Does anyone else ship items first class letter ? How do you print your labels? I have developed my own software to do it, wondering if it would be useful for others.

I do know that ebay has the feature to print the labels,
For quite some time I would printe the labels, cut them and stick them on the envelope.
Now I use a direct thermal printer (I have 2) and for first class package I print on 4x6 labels using a third party shipping software and for first class letter I am using my software to print on 2-1/4 x 1-1/4" labels since I want to keep the cost of these packages to a minimum.
My software basically picks up all the information directly from the ebay page when you click the print shipping label link and automatically generates the label based on the selected template and send it to the printer using adobe acrobat. No copy paste / formatting needs to be done. 1-click operation.

Your app might be useful to some, but there are a couple of other solutions.
The free ebay stamps.com app will import directly from ebay and print a complete postage label for any type postage to a thermal printer.
If you only want the small address only label, the free ShipRush for USPS will import directly from ebay and print only the address to a thermal printer.

Ok so this is really useful,
I was not aware shiprush allows you to print address labels withouth postage and will try that.
Also i was not aware of the free stamps.com ebay service, that is going to be very useful.

I have an account where I ship small pamphlets using just an envelope and a stamp. By the time I fumble around trying to print off a tiny label for an envelope, I could have written the address out by hand.

If you are printing just a few letters a day, than hand writting the labels is probably the best option. On the other hand if you are doing a lot, you could use the solution I have developed to speed things up dramatically.
