Just sold a postcard that was purchased by an overseas buyer. Postcard was listed in postcard category. Ebay will not allow me to use ESE label. Anyone seen this before? What happens if I mail to international hub with just a standard stamp in an envelope?

I doubt that any shipment which qualifies for ESE can survive International Shipping via EIS.
I also believe that the maximum size of an ESE envelope is less than the required minimum size for EIS which is set so that the customs paperwork can be attached.

Thanks, I guess learned my lesson.

FWIW, I ship much of my domestic and US sales by LetterMail using stamps because -- umm, did you notice my ID?
Not a problem with stamps, even though there is no tracking on these.
YMMV.
I use LetterMail for a lot of overseas shipping too, but it depends on the country.

ESE is not available because the item is over $20
You can ship untracked with a postage stamp, but you will have no proof of delivery. If you do that make sure the address is exact with the evtn#. Up to you if $30 is something you want to risk, or if you prefer to pay for a tracked package.

The minimum package size requirement for EIS appears to have been deleted from the latest version of the help information.

Oops, didn't pay attention to that. This was the first postcard in years that sold for over $20 and the old guy did not catch that.

I've sent a number of cards to the EIS hub with ESE. Never had a problem. I assume they re-package them, but not my problem at that point..

If I get an International Buyer I always take a photo of it with postage on it...reference.
If I get a 'freight forward' buyer I always take a photo with postage on it and send that in an email with telling buyer it is going to (country) and expect it to take longer.
I send items out with stamps without tracking quite a bit...years and nothing ever lost.
I can't tell you some of the countries I mailed to that I can't even spell them.
If it's an Japanese buyer of the post card...I trust Japan...one International stamp is what I myself would use.
I have been getting too many with tracking 'in transit, arriving late' lately and never showing 'delivered'.
Thus, item arrived and I wasted money on tracking...only my experiences.
So I don't do tracking for 'freight forward' anymore...and usually not International.
