I'm a Newbie, so bear with my basic question. I keep taking a hit on shipping items. This item: 224207700751 sold for $1 with my shipping cost calculated at 3oz. I know to choose "Package" not "Letter" (learned that the hard way). The buyer paid $1.40 for First Class and when I went to order and print the label, I paid $3.43, so I lost $$. It keeps happening. What am I doing wrong? I'm listing lots of scrapbook stickers and can't afford to keep taking shipping hits. Thanks for your help!

same thing happened to me and I have been listing for 20 years.
5 oz. item shipped within my home state, buyer was auto invoiced for calculated shipping of $1.80, my cost with ebay labels is $3.63?? whats up with that

I don't know where your $1.40 came from. A 3 oz. package (4 oz. price) is going to cost you $3.43 with tracking.
Your shipping is also charged FVFs... why not just raise your s&h it to $4 (+)?? Good buyers know...

All I can suggest is go through your listings and compare listings with correct shipping and ones with $1.20
I looked at some of your listings and some ship to me for $4.20 and some for $1.20 but I dont see why.

That undercharge will happen when the menu for 'Package type" is set to letter or large envelope, even if you choose "First Class package" from the menu for Services. The postage for a 3-ounce flat (AKA Large envelope) is $1.40 and for 5 ounces it's $1.80.
Go back and check the listing; one easy way to do this is to click on "Sell similar" to bring up an exact copy of the original listing form.
OTOH, an envelope with only scrapbook stickers might be eligible to be mailed as a letter or flat, at considerable postage savings. It's up to you whether to take the risk of having fake "Item not received" claims due to not having tracking. This is probably a low-scam category.
If you choose to mail as a letter or flat, you'll have to use stamps or go to the PO, since eBay only sells labels for packages.

Thanks for the reply. I'll look at them. I'm hesitant to just throw stamps on envelopes and take extra time to package even a $.99 sticker with cardboard to prevent it from being bent or damaged.
