The Post Office is open tomorrow July 3 (and Monday July 6). They are closed on Saturday July 4. I have a purchase that Ebay says "ship by Friday 7/3"...but when I go to print the label, Friday July 3 is not an option on the drop down menu of dates. It goes from Thurs to Sat without a Friday option. They have screwed up the postal holiday dates. I hope they fix it soon! I'm not taking a late shipment strike for their mistake.

Can you print a label with today's date and just ship it tomorrow? It'd prevent a ding...

I could and have done that in the past (usually in error), but technically it is required by the PO to have the date that it is shipped. That is to prevent people from printing a label then shipping it weeks or months later. I doubt they would reject it, but I prefer to stick to the letter of the law. If it isn't fixed by midnight, I may have to though.

Well, shucks... I have no other advice. I just played with a shipping label I have to print, and it says 'tomorrow... July 3rd'. Mine time out with the PO closing time... which was 45 minutes ago, CST... I was hoping it might still be before 5PM where you were. Sorry!
P.S. My drop down even includes the 4th. What the heck?

I'm having the same problem - I can only print labels for today, the 2nd, and the 4th of July, even though my orders say "Ship by July 3rd". In the past when I've accidentally printed labels for orders due tomorrow w/ today's date and shipped them the following day, those packages have counted against me and show "tracking shows this item was shipped late" on the shipping report I ran. It's happened more than once, so there's no way I'm risking it again - eBay seriously needs to address this before it's too late.

I would hope that if they give you a late shipping for July 3rd you could get it removed since the PO is closed & you can't ship it USPS on the 3rd
If it is missing from ebay labels then they are aware it's a Postal holiday
But FYI mine is showing the 3rd of July as a option for me to print

Can you help out here?
The 3rd is listed as a USPS holiday , I show it in labels as a printable date but OP says they don't and ebay is telling them to ship by 03 Jul

Where did you get that image? It seems to be from an obsolete source, possibly from as far back as 2014. The current USPS page says that the holiday is being observed on July 4. Anyway, neither calendar reflects the problem of a seller being directed to print labels with the July 4 days on them rather than July 3.

Why can't eBay get holidays right?
You can purchase a label from PayPal that will show July 3, but if it's a Priority Mail label you'll be charged the regular online rate, without the extra 3% discount that eBay gives to TRS.

I just checked the USPS website and it shows that it's closed Saturday the 4th for the holiday.

That web site is not produced by nor supported by USPS.
It shows holiday calendars for many countries, for the years 2014 through 2020. The information on usps.com is clearly a better resource.

Hi @labs118, it looks like the USPS.com website is listing the 4th of July as the observed holiday date when it comes to shipments (here). A seller should be able to ship on the 3rd of July based on what I've seen from USPS, but if the OP is having issues then I can get this reported.
@www.telecoin.bizland.com, can you tell me the item number related to this sale and share a screenshot of what you are seeing when you go to print the label? What browser are you using and have you tried using a different one or clearing your cache & cookies? I just want to cover all our bases, since other sellers are reporting seeing the 3rd as a shipping date option.

I'm not sure what happened in your situation but the date on the label doesn't have anything to do with getting a late mark. You get a late mark if the label is not scanned within your handling time and it is also not scanned as delivered before the estimated delivery date. If you have one of those scans on time, there is no late ding. The date on the label isn't relevant to ebay.

Item #184252318750. Using Firefox and tried IE also. Used both my desktop (windows 7) and my laptop (windows 10). No dice. Here is screen shot, but it doesn't show drop down menu (which omits Friday 7/3).
