Please stop prompting us sellers with the 'Shipcover' insurance option

Dear eBay, Please stop prompting us with the 'Shipcover' insurance option for EVERY SINGLE LABEL we print, especially when you make the "skip" button the white one and the "Add Extra Protection" in blue, as the previous and following windows are blue.  We've almost clicked it a dozen times already, and there's no option to avoid getting prompted over and over again.

WE DON'T WANT TO PURCHASE EXTRA INSURANCE AND CAN YOU PLEASE STOP ASKING FOR EVERY SINGLE LABEL? THANKS!

Re: Please stop prompting us sellers with the 'Shipcover' insurance option

Actually, Pirateship has Shipsurance that's superior in every way; and, Pirateship takes care of the process for you.  I love Pirateship bigly, lol.

Shipcover is in the range of ok to good, but Pirateship goes to bat for you while eBay tells you to kick rocks.

Now onto the biggest scammers around, when it comes to shipping insurance: USPS.  They should be ashamed of themselves.

Sorry OP, I didn't mean to go off on a tangent.

Re: Please stop prompting us sellers with the 'Shipcover' insurance option

This is a Community Forum for members to chat with each other, not a direct like to Ebay Customer Service.  I will give you some links below so you can report this annoying window to Ebay.

I'm hoping it is a temporary pop up when we use a shipping method that the regular insurance a carrier may offer at no additional charge isn't enough to cover whatever we are shipping, so additional insurance may or may not be a good idea.  For example for me, it does not pop up if I use Media Mail but if I use Ground Advantage it does.

I'm not sure about your signature line or why it would apply here on the Community.  Those are responses that likely belong on  your  Q&A that you can place on all listings.  It has nothing to do with the Community here.

*******************************************************************************

On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://twitter.com/askebay

https://www.facebook.com/ebay

https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

It's an 'open letter'.

To other sellers that are likely well aware of it if they have current sales.  It just started not to long ago.

And certainly this is a place you can come to vent, many of us do.  But you started your post Dear Ebay and they won't likely ever see this unless you send it directly to Ebay, which is not via the Community here.

So what is up with your signature line on your posts?

Don't worry yourself about it. Maybe just move on rather than be pedantic and needle us about the signature line. This is a forum for assistance and expression.

I'm not worrying about anything.  I know some people simply see a question as an attack for some reason when all it is, is a curiosity question?  Not meant to inspire the response you gave.

It wasn't a "hint".

Anyone can post if they choose.  You can always just ignore the posts since you seem to want to make far more out of my question than was ever intended.  I get it, you aren't going to answer it.  I'm fine with that.  You have the right to respond or ignore.  Whatever is best for you.

Re: Please stop prompting us sellers with the 'Shipcover' insurance option

I do not like any pop-up appearing in the middle of the screen when I press a "purchase" button.  This immaterial insurance option popped up when I chose a [now very expensive] media rate option.  The reason this is bad is because I pressed "purchase" and it did not purchase, wondering if I may accidentally buy postage twice.

I must be lucky, I haven't seen it yet. Hopefully they drop it before I get a chance to see it.

It will depend on what carrier and method of shipment you are selecting.

Re: Please stop prompting us sellers with the 'Shipcover' insurance option

@seanhanley1978

I was going to reply yesterday that I had not seen this pop-up, but later in the evening while preparing a $20 book to ship media mail, I did, for the first time.

USPS ground advantage and priority mail are automatically "insured" by USPS (for whatever that is worth).

I was surprised to see this pop up... on the other hand, I just recently had an experience with a book that was misrouted by USPS, and had to go through the hassle of asking them to find it (missingmail.usps.com).

Are you getting this pop up on media mail exclusively??

@cardxcraft

Thanks so much for mentioning this... I have used Pirateship for FB marketplace, but never for eBay purchases.   I know that the services can be integrated and will take a look today at changing the way I buy postage for my eBay sales, especially those that I do want to insure.

I love eBay, but truth be told, I have zero faith in Shipcover insurance... for the simple reason that it is used and promoted by eBay.  ðŸ˜‚

That is unusual, in my experience, it does not pop up when media mail is the selected shipping method.  And I ship much of my stuff via that method.  It only pops up for me if I use Ground Advantage.

I'm not sure about other shipping methods as I haven't used anything else since this darn pop up started.

This popup is meant to be added to the automatic insurance of Ground Advantage and Priority Mail if case you should need more insurance.
