Please help! Sent two unique orders with duplicate shipping labels.

Therefore, one customer will get something they did not order. I checked up on mail intercept and do not know if that is helpful in this case. The boxes are very different from one another. I could identify which one goes where. Relatively new as a seller and try to be careful, but the horse is  out of the barn now! Truck just left my local PO.

Eagerly awaiting for advice. I get great info from this forum every day and I appreciate all of you. Thanks in advance!

Contact the buyers and assure them you'll make it right.

Buyer who got both items needs a prepaid lable to return it to you, buyer who got nothing needs to know you'll refund with if the other buyer doesn't ship it back. You might offer the buyer who's waiting for you to sort it out a partial refund to make up for your mess up.

You must have generated 2 labels with 2 different tracking numbers for the same customer.

If 2 labels are generated with one tracking reference then I would expect your postal service provider to stop the shipment at your local sorting office as they have been paid for 1 label only.

Now that both items are on their way to 1 address then only option is for you to advise both buyer of your mistake and the one who is not going to receive anything ask him what he would like you to do and in my opinion offer him options to include sent the item to him after receiving it back , Would you prefer it if order was cancelled and a refund was issued.

To the buyer who is going to receive 2 packages tell him in advance which package has his item and he does not need to open the other package and on day of receipt to send you a message and you will send him a pre-paid label and if practical as an incentive you may consider offering both buyers a discount of their next purchase from you.

Unfortunately you have made a mistake and you can not control the outcome.

I sincerely hope things work out.

I agree with the gist of this. If there were not some kind of safeguard one could send multiple parcels to one address but only pay for one shipping label. I am a surprised that my mistake was not detected when I dropped off at the USPS service window and the packages were scanned!?

More comments welcome; appreciate all of you.

Could the recipient tell which is theirs (unique) and just mark 'RTS' on the other package... or would that mess up their Money Back Guarantee? You'd not have to generate another label that way. Hmmm...

Back to the top with my ongoing issue.

USPS created a new shipping label for one of the packages.  Here is the only message on tracking:

Mar 23, Onalaska, WI, Shipping label created, USPS awaiting item

I tried package intercept but error message: not eligible.

Called the PO where I dropped it off (Holmen, WI). No help.

Called the Onalaska, WI PO, which is about seven miles from Holmen. No help.

This package is within a fifteen minute drive of my home but I am stymied.

Do I and the buyer need to exercise patience? Will I be able to intercept once it starts moving? Feel like I have been patient long enough but any action I try to take has no effect.

Any potential solutions for this dilemma from all of you fine and friendly folks of the  eBay Community?

Thanks in advance. Any input appreciated.
