How do you handle this if a buyer issues a not described claim after the 30 day return is up in eBay in Paypal?

Buyers have 180 days to request return/refunds through paypal (per paypal). I advise to call paypal and talk to a rep- simply telling them 'the customer has had this product for XX days, and now they just decide it's not what was described? I would then ask them to close in your favor. May not work, but worth a try.

Does anyone know if the return goes through paypal do the eBay fee's automatically get deducted for the return ?

If it is done as a return through Paypal and and the buyer is refunded in full, ebay should automatically credit the sellers fees. Paypal no longer credits their own fees though.

No, ebay does not refund FV Fees with a Paypal return; as they are not part of it at that point and would not know about it (via the system)

So if a return goes through Paypal then the fee's are lost on Ebay. Can you request a credit for the fee's lost from eBay? I pretty sure the refund reversal on paypal will credit their fee's.

You might be able to call Ebay CS and provide proof the refund was given through Pay Pal.
Depending on the CS rep, you might get the fee's back and you might not.

eBay knows when a Paypal dispute has been opened. They won't let a buyer open an eBay dispute after a PP one has been opened so they must be aware of it.
It's been a long time since I've had a Paypal dispute opened against me but I'm sure that when I did, my fvf were refunded. Perhaps that's changed but I'm not aware of it if it has.

PayPal give the buyers 180 days on returns and will not communicate to eBay to return the fee's . My buyer opened a return in PayPal because it past the 30 days which i give on eBay. PayPal now says if the buyer give them a tracking they give another 30 days for it to get back to me. I sold the item to USA address and now the item has a Thailand return tracking number. The item i sold was for 900.00 so there at least 80.00 in fee's. eBay should return them if the item was return on PayPal just like it went through the eBay return system. So the real question as a seller why is eBay 30 days on returns and PayPal 180 days? And why are the fee's not being credited from a PayPal return?

If your fees aren't credited automatically, you should be able to phone ebay and have them add the credit manually.
Paypal and eBay are two different companies so have different requirements. In PP's case, they apparently want to have a similar timeline for refunds as the credit card companies.

They should be the same. If you list an item with a 30 day return then PayPal should be the same not 6x longer at 180 days. Its not fair to a seller.
