I can't begin the to describe the idiocy that I have have become involved with in a nasty circle between ebay complaints - shutl - Hermes. Suffice to say I am out of pocket. Each chat message has become more and more moronic. I couldn't even close the ebay account because I owe them selling fees. I've advised them on the last "chat" if you can call it that I will close the acc as soon as fees are paid. I've positive feedback on nearly 1000 transactions on ebay but they will not even admit when it's their fault. Their customer service is disgusting at best. It all stems from a missing item where ebay shutl have a wrong post code in place for a customer. It's not so much the money (£30) but the principle. They'll lose out far more than a lousy £30 through future lost fees. They just don't seem to care but then they've had their whack (fees) out of me in the past. Their complaints system seems to totally frustate, rather than to use common sense.

Oh ok, I just wanted to help if I could.
It's understandable to need to vent, eBay customer service is rapidly getting known to be the worst ever. I have seen posts on here of them doing everything from not knowing what to do to flat out lying to people.

What is your question?

Ebay won't let you close your account after you pay your fees; it stays open for 6 months after your last sale, should a buyer need resolution from you.

It's a rant. It's just got so that no-one can help, really. No matter if I go back to Ebay/Shutl or Hermes, I ain't going to get redress. Pure frustration. The review sites are full of people that have banged their heads against "brick walls" in relation to lost items. I've given up on it now. One thing I will say is the standard of customer service on ebay is terrible. I cannot believe how bad it is. Some of the responses on the chat service would appear comical to the casual observer. When it's your own money at stake it's far from it. Never mind. Thank you for your concern.

Many Thanks.
You know more than the customer service person, if true and I've no reason to doubt you. That wasn't mentioned to me during my "chat" with them today.

According to ebay's help files:

You are welcome! Buyers have 180 days on PP to file a claim, hence the six months. Ebay gives them 30 days to open a claim.
