Package lost with US post office going on 12 days cannot get local PO to move or district or nat.

i have 3 packages that i shipped 8/15. The have not moved. I cannot get local PO to act. i have contact supposed hub 1.5 hrs away and left a detailed message no returned call. i have searched tracking numbers on national site it states i have assigned the tracking number (purchased through eBay) but the package is not registered at local PO.

 i am certain i either put these in my box or dropped them off on a Saturday Morn/Sunday evening at the box at the PO.

What can i do at this point?? Can eBay corp. lean in and help????

Problem now is that the packages do not even show to be delivered to the PO.  " Oh we never got those"........

Go to your local PO and if they can not do a trace (Most likely can not)": Ask for the postal inspector so that you can file a missing or stolen package report with them.  Make sure you have the tracking numbers with you.

Do not let the Postal inspector off of the hook. Tel him if he even try to stall you: that he or she may be part of a local postal theft ring.  It gets em upset but will get a report in.

You may even need to file a stolen or lost items  item with your local police department and other federal law enforcement.

It is plain theft that these items are not being scanned and it is the PO fault.

This should be done with any delivered , picked up or dropped off that is not scanned.

Call 1-800-275-8777. That's the national USPS call center. Make a report. They will contact the local office and have an investigation started. In the future, I strongly suggest you stand in line and get an acceptance scan. If you use the bulk shipping tool, you can generate a SCAN form. Present that form with your packages and they will only have to scan the barcode on it to accept all of the packages. If you just drop your packages at the counter and don't get an acceptance scan, they may not get a scan until they're being loaded on a truck. That may be past your shipping deadline, and you have no proof you shipped them on time or at all.

Go to usps.com or usps.gov and I believe you click on Where is my package to send an email. In your email put the date the packages were shipped and zip codes where packages were shipped to. In cases like this you should have your post office receipts to show packages were accepted/scanned by post office. From recent experience I have learned that when you do this your local post office is contacted regarding your inquiry and they tend to respond in a timely fashion. Some times you might even get a call from them.

I used to drop my packages off at the local post office because the lines were too long and my packages had prepaid labels on them.  I live in a metropolitan area and no longer do this because of recent issues with USPS.  I stand in line and make sure my packages are scanned and that I get a receipt right then and there.

Check with the Post Office were you dropped them off, this happened to me once as well and my small package fell next to the drop box they did not even notice till I went to the Post office and they moved there bin and there was my package. They apologized and scanned the package and it arrived days later Thank God the buyer was great. Right now I had a buyer open a case for a non delivered item sold July 11 tracking shows problems delivering to buyers address but no other information. I go to the USPS site and open a claim just to see if they can find out what happened to the package. Refunded the buyer. Hope you find your packages.

As other people have commented I to never simply drop packages at the post office but stand in line to make sure I have a scanned receipt with the tracking numbers. I had a package that was not moving but since I had the tracking number I was able to check the status through the USPS Tracking web site. Since the package was not moving and I have a USPS Click and Ship account I filed a lost package claim with USPS, which they love because this consumes resources to investigate but it also gets traction. One day after I filed the first lost package report and 1 day after I filed the second one, strangely enough the package started moving. There is nothing eBay can or will do to help you with a USPS issue.

Only 12 days!! That is not too bad believe it or not. I have had several packages taking much longer, especially to Michigan. My last major delayed package took 30 days to get delivered. Sometimes they go back and forth between the same 2 cities 3-4 times. ( I guess this is caused by a truck/employee shortage as they claim!!) Or simply have no movement for over 2 weeks. Good luck with any help from ebay. Without an acceptance scan from the USPS you may be out of luck. It may eventually show up, but your buyer may want a refund before then. Best of luck.

Oh, please, try to "detour" back to reality and to be more helpful than just dispensing ridiculous "accuse the postal inspector of being part of a theft ring because that will get action" conspiracy theories to a seller looking for help.  Local law enforcement has nothing to do with this and will have nothing to do with this, the post office falls under the FEDERAL postal inspector.  And they investigate crimes, not missing packages.

12 days with zero scans at all? Consider that the packages may have been stolen. I've had packages go off the radar... they are stuck at the back of a distribution center. However I can't think of an occasion where a package never got scanned going into the local post office, or local(ish) distribution center.

Take a look at the news story about facilities in Michigan and Chicago where the packages are so piled up the people cannot even get through the aisles to retrieve them All thanks to our believed new PMG.

No, there is nothing Ebay can do.

If they never received an acceptance scan and you have no receipt, there's no proof you shipped them and there's not much you can do if the buyers file an INR.

It might take a little longer, but always get the packages scanned when you drop them off and get a receipt.

Michigan, yup, USPS  black hole.

Try this one on for size. Got to Allen Park in 4 days, and then took nearly another month to get another scan, and eventual delivery 39 days after acceptance.

I had an international package come back to me after 6 months, and have had almost the same thing happen to me when I tried to reship.

I know I dropped mine off but, in some bizarre coincidence, my brakes went out that day and flustered me to the point I couldn't find the receipt/ proof. 

after two weeks of no scan, I called the post office...repeatedly. They wouldn't help me but, magically, the package skipped the postal scan and skipped right to the Chicago hub .

...and there it has been sitting for about 3 weeks.

I have had this happen a LOT lately. Packages sitting in one Post Office for days so it does not arrive on time. So the buyer opens a case. Well eBay refunds them and guess what.... I look at the tracking again a few days later and it shows delivered. I call eBay and they tell me there is nothing they can do to contact the buyer. Every time I do I get no response back. So I am just out the money. The Postal Service is really hurting us sellers! And eBay will not back us on this!
