Package Switch Up

So I just found out from one of my buyers that he received the wrong package.  I presume the buyer who was supposed to receive that package has buyer 1's package.

What would be the best way to get those packages to the right people?

Re: Package Switch Up

Apologize profusely.  Then ask each buyer to return the items to you and send them the postage needed to do so.

When you get them back, first ask each if they still want the item.  If so, then resend.  Again, postage on you.

If the buyer does not want it, again apologize profusely and refund in total.

Some eBay lessons are expensive.

Re: Package Switch Up

this is a common problem with many bad outcomes

the items need to be returned

some ebayers thank you can ask the buyers to send them to each other

the buyer that ended up with a better object has no reason to do this

Re: Package Switch Up

An equally urgent question is "How do I avoid this mistake again in the future?" The only answer I've come up with is to NEVER have more than one item at at a time, sold or not, in the immediate packing area.  As impractical as that may sound, it works and I've not had anyone suggest any other fix. Big sellers may have some process controls that we don't have.
