First time seeing this one.

Delivery should have been made last Friday and tracking shows it was "Out for Delivery." Several hours later, the tracking now shows that the item has been delayed.

Is it lost? Obviously it got scanned onto the truck, but no details follow as to why it was delayed.

The product does have SC on it, but usually they show if it was delayed because no one was available for signature, right?

That can happen if the carrier doesn't have time to finish their route. I saw that a lot during the Christmas shopping period. They were bring everyone back around 8pm, finished or not.

Thanks for the info.

It is still showing as delayed today so I called the local Post Office. They have the picture of the item and that it went out for delivery on 4/6, as tracking shows.

However they are unsure why it came back, or was delayed. They are now going in search of the package. Oddly enough it has Signature Confirmation, so it's not like they just dumped it somewhere.

this mail article had
signature confirmation.
Hopefully it will soon be located.

Don't count on signature confirmation saving you. My mail lady often just tosses packages over the fence without scanning them as liver including stuff I'm supposed to sign for

Same thing just happened to me. You have to wait 7 days and file a USPS request for them to search for the item. I my post office what happened and she said it probably was sent on the wrong route, returnEd to the office which scanned it in as delayed and now it's just sitting there. I contacted the buyer and explained everything. I called the PA post office too, but couldn't wait almost 2 hours to talk to someone. I did this on Monday, so far I haven't seen any movement on the items tracking and I signed up for text alerts on it. The buyer said they would go to the post office today if it didn't arrive, it should have delivered on 4/4 I mailed it on 4/2. Good luck, only wish I could bill the post office for my time. They should be able to generate a report on items that haven't been delivered, I paid did my part, just don't understand why it's my responsibility to jump through hoops. I didn't want the buyer upset with me and felt bad it even happened

So, last week I filed an official "search" request for USPS as I have not heard back from the PO about their search at the local level.

Not sure how long these usually take, but I haven't heard anything regarding the official search either.

Tracking still shows the same - 4/6 - Out for Delivery, then 4/6 - Delayed.

No movement since.

My guess is that the item is lost and I will have to file an insurance claim on it (it is insured for the full amount). I know I can file up to 60 days after it was shipped, but is it better to file sooner, rather than later?

The strange thing during this whole ordeal is that I haven't heard anything from the buyer.
