Opened request too early

am new to the forums and not sure how to really use them. Here is my issue:

i opened a return request before my item arrived, I’ve never had to open a return request before so I am new to this.
my item was supposed to arrive 3 days ago (the 5th) and the return request closes in 3 days ( the 10th). The item hasn’t arrived due to weather conditions and if I don’t ship the item out by the 10th, ebay will close the return request. I have paid to print the label already. What do I do in this situation? I have looked up answers and I see you can’t reopen a return request. Please help me

edit: the seller is fine with a return but im scared the request will close before the item arrives and I can’t contact eBay without having to call which I am not comfortable doing.

Your item may still arrive in time to be returned. If the case closes before then you can open a case in paypal. If you go to paypal you will have to pay the postage to return your item. Other members will be along with more advice. Welcome to the boards.

Opening a request in PayPal would be wrong and unfair to the seller.  PayPal doesn't have return requests only cases for not as described.   Since this item isn't even received yet it would seem it's not a not as described situation.   If the buyer falsely filed not as described with PayPal the seller would have to fully refund incoming original shipping.

Would I be getting a refund for the posting label I created with eBay?

What reason did you choose when you opened the return request? If it was a remorse return and you had to pay for the label through paypal then you need to call customer service & see what can be done. If ebay gave you a label & didn't send you to paypal to pay for it then it was an snad return and you wouldn't have been charged for it if you used it.

I was charged 7.06 for the label and was charged through PayPal

If you are returning the item due to no fault of the seller, you shouldn't be refunded for the label you created.
