Up in the right hand corner of our eBay pages is a bell that give you alerts,  this morning mine said SHIPPED 10 Items.  When I click on it, it takes me to my purchases but I have only 9 items that were sent.  I didn't buy a 10th item.

Seems eBay has some glitches, I hope it doesn't affect final cost for the sellers, either them or me might be charged 10% by eBay sales for an extra sales that does not exist.

Funny thing, eBay has over 230 million accounts worldwide, it they mistakenly get say $1 from every account over a week, that is $230 Million.

If they did accidentally charged $1 for its 230 plus million accounts in a week that is $230 Million, and in two weeks gave it all back they made money off the interest of the $230 million.  At 2% that is something like $4 Million plus dollars.

...and if only 1% of those accounts figured out what was going on, there would be 2.3 million accountholders screaming bloody murder about it, so I'm going to suggest here that I don't think that's what's happening. Smiley Wink

The banner line alert counter bell in the upper right corner of the screen is a seriously flaky bit of coding (and doesn't even work here in the discussion groups; it's purely for decoration only, as no one at eBay could figure out some internal coding issues between the eBay site and the Lithium discussion groups that would enable it to work properly on this side), so if it's working correctly, fine; if it's not, you should verify whatever you're wanting to check on some other way.

Have you checked your funding source or your PayPal account to see how many transactions were processed/paid for? Were you charged for nine transactions or ten?

I always get some mysterious withdrawals of such a small amounts then later I get these mysterious deposits back into my PayPal account.  They appear as negatives and then positives in the account.  When I try and look into them usually leads to no where as if the transaction just disappears all together or was some sort of spoof.  These are not the postal charges.

Then there are the postal Charges.  Usually all over payments put back into my account the USPS says it is eBay giving us the discount.  Which once again puts into their coffers about 14 million dollars everyday, they hold it for a few days and then you get the Postal overcharge in your account days later.  This in fact is a profit making scheme where they earn interest that is compounded daily for a few days.  They make the interest on millions of dollars while we only get back our over payment.

Those sound like preauthorizations. Is your Paypal account funded by a credit card?

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

No, this has been going on since 2013.  I don't get $1 charges since the first Three Months of my eBay account.  This goes on between eBay and a Paypal not my Credit Cards.
