Not allowed to request a refund even if the item received does not match description ???

Unbelievable ... 

I am a member for more than a decade ... probably two ... have hundreds and hundreds on positive feedbacks as buyer ... buying about 5-10 items per month. Overall feedback score is at 100% for at least 10-15 years. Also sold a few items (including cars) and received only positive as seller.

About two months ago one seller sent me a completly wrong item. I requested a refund a received it.

Last month I ordered a screen protector for phone. The Post Office declared it "delivered" but that was not true. Asked seller for refund and he did send me a replacement (very inexpensive item).  A week after receiving the replacement, the Post Office brought in the original item. I offered the sellet to pay for the second item and he very gratiously assured me I don't have to. All of this was done by the messanger in ebay - can be verified.

Now another seller sent an item that does not match description. E-bay will not even let me open a return request because it "detected unusual return activity on my account".

Seriously E-bay ?

You shouldn't request a refund from the seller when the tracking shows the item was sel covered. You should contact the post office & take it up with them. You are the lucky the seller sent a replacement, he wasn't obligates to and you wouldn't have qualified for a refund under the money back guarantee.

Items are normally returned to the seller before a refund is issued.

All money-back policies have limits for dollar amount and/or occurrences.

A seller who has online tracking showing delivery is not obligated to refund or replace; and sellers can report buyers to ebay.

I believe that removal from MBG coverage is permanent.

Used to work at a pizza place. 

You'll love it or it's free! guy gets a refund because he said he didn't love it.

A few days later he came back to eat. After the meal he claimed it was bad and wanted a refund. He was declined. If he didn't love it he wouldn't have come back. If you keep coming back you must like it.

If you have too many problems with sellers on ebay, the logical thing to do would be to stop buying here. If you keep buying here and keep claiming problems, you are abusing the guarantee and you lose it.

eBay won't keep giving you your money back over and over and over. If you have so many propblems with ebay the logical thing would be to go elsewhere to shop. The fact that you keep shopping here, and having problems with sellers that don't generally have problems......

Three requests for refunds of cheap stuff would not seem likely to trigger an "unusual return activity".  I would call eBay and ask for an explanation.
