Hi,
I am trying to figure out what to do? I received an item yesterday and it did not fit well. The seller offers 30 day return. I did initiate the return before I heard back from them because the system told me I was good since they offered returns. It also hadn't technically showed up as delivered in the tracking system. I clicked return and it generated a return label. Shortly thereafter I could see 2 tracking numbers for the item. Today it has updated to delivered (on my end). It also shows up in my returns but when I click Return Details there is no tracking number, it only gives me the option to mark as shipped and upload a tracking number, or purchase a return label. When I try to mark as shipped and enter the tracking number it says it already exists in the sytem and to try a valid number. When I enter the number in Google it brings up only my having the item scanned when I dropped it off this morning - so I know it's my number. Help! Where do I find the tracking number proof I shipped it?

To clarify, I returned before I heard from the seller because Return Details said this:

@smiles1012 If you dropped the package off this morning then why would the tracking say delivered? When you printed the label, the tracking number was automatically uploaded for you. You don’t have to upload it and you don’t have to mark the item shippedZ ebays system is slow but it will catch up and track the package.

Because it was showing the tracking for the delivery TO me. It was not showing the tracking number generated when I printed out the return label yesterday. When I clicked on Return Status it did not have the return tracking number associated with it. It only gave me the option to purchase a return label (which I had already done) or enter a tracking number (which I tried to do but it wouldn't accept).
I have since called Customer Service and they added the number to it. There was no return tracking associated, which there should have been. At one point yesterday, before tracking updated to show delivery to me, it had 2 tracking numbers. Shipping to me and my return shipping. One the system updated to show delivered to me the other tracking disappeared.

Did you have to call EBay to get this corrected? This exact same thing happened to me also on 9/26. I printed the provided label and shipped the item right away for the return but it still says I need to "ship the item". It did not "upload" the EBay provided tracking number and I cannot enter it either.

I did call to get it corrected. They entered the number on their end. The customer service person told me I could also try choosing Enter Tracking number on the return details shipped page. When it gives you the box, instead of using USPS as the default shipper, choose Other from the drop down menu and type U.S.P.S. with the dots. Then add the tracking number. Of course that's if you used USPS.
They had already fixed it for me so I didn't get to test if it would work. But it's worth a shot!

That actually worked! U.S.P.S in the "Other" box and the tracking number uploaded without issue immediately. How bizarre. Thank you kindly for the info, I was just about to call Ebay on my lunch break!

The only thing is at this time it does not have the most current tracking info attached to the number. It says it is in transit, but it only has the time stamp from when I initially printed the label. If I go to USPS and put the tracking in however it shows mutiple events in tracking. I have to assume once it is delieved EBay will simply say "delivered". It it scheduled to arrive tomorrow so we shall see!
