No more USPS if I can help it

Had medical supplies sent via USPS. Delivered today. But guaranteed delivery yesterday. Tracking info yesterday said, "No safe place to leave, notice left." My wife was at home, no notice was left, and the package will fit in anyone's hand. My oversized mailbox wasn't large enough? The tracking notice was simply a lie. Another package (business cards) that was at the PO Wednesday and ready to be delivered was a day late. I needed them to distribute to customers. I'm sick and tired of that. Not the first time.  I'd suggest UPS but they bow out with UPS "Surepost," which gives the package over to hell. And then you're a day or two behind in getting your package. I can't tell customers, "Hang on! Neither rain, nor sleet nor snow..." because I'm getting rained on with USPS! Done! Someone else. Anyone else!

Unfortunately nobody better.

Based upon your comments, you have a carrier problem. The person that runs your route is either lazy or doesn't like you.

I suppose you could go down and talk to the manager for the post office that sorts your mail, but maybe you should have a talk to the  mail carrier so he understands how he is impacting your business negatively.

Cheers

Purchase only from sellers that use UPS or FedEx definite day express delivery services, and pay the extra $20-$100 that will cost.

Problem solved.

Would agree,a carrier problem not postal service. they all have they issues from time to time. what I hate about ups is your package will arrive at the hub in my area Friday night and sit there till Monday. At least usps runs 7 days.

It could be either one of those, lazy or doesn't like us.  I used to work for UPS. I can envision not seeing a package after having passed that stop, then marking it with some phony reason for non delivery. Some relatives have said similar with their packages. One cousin had a package pass right by (we knew this through the tracking). It went on to the next state before being rerouted. And I had a package go from Florida to Louisiana to Texas to California before making it's way to SC. As for not liking us, may be.

I'm not sure that paying $100 when a regular ground package typically costs about $1 more than USPS. Ground gives me a tracking number and glides through faster shipping lanes than when I worked at UPS. FedEx is comparable to USPS in price. UPS Surepost gives it over to the USPS, who then takes up to two days to get it 10 miles. I know. That scenario happened last week.

Oh I don't care for that either. It sits a few miles away over the weekend and you need it Saturday. I did notice this year, though, UPS was delivering each Saturday after Thanksgiving the regular ground packages. In fact, I received a couple on a Saturday. But that seems to have been a seasonal thing. And they were closed on New Year's Eve with a package on mine sitting on the trailer. When I worked there we didn't close on Christmas Eve nor New Year's Eve. People would ask me if we would be closed for Good Friday or Columbus Day or something like that. The standard reply was, "We're not the Post Office, ma'am." I'm trying to like the USPS. But they won't let me.

UPS Ground and FedEx Ground are guaranteed services.

You are correct. I had always thought they were not, and just sort of day-definite similar to USPS Priority "estimates", but the money back guarantee is in evidence in the FedEx Ground Tariffs back to at least 2014 and UPS back to 2013.

(that fact unfortunately interferes a bit with my snark 🙂
