I am not a regular seller, so I might be posting something without proper knowledge, but I think this why we have these boards. In any event, I have sold a number of things over the years and just sold an item last week. This is the first time I didn't get a shipping label, I just got a USPS number. I took it to USPS and they didn't know what to do with it. I don't know what to do. I have an item I need to ship. Ebay has a doc showing when it plans the item to leave and if I ship it differently, then it really can't track when it goes or arrives. It would then be up to the recipient to be honest about it. How do I get the shipping Label for my red laptop sale to print or be produced to complete this sale?

Did you choose to "purchase shipping label"?
Then choose a shipping service?
Then click on "purchase shipping label"?
Then "print label"?
You can not just get a USPS tracking # if not doing some of the above.
When you purchase you are charged, and the # is created even if you do not print that label.
You purchased, you just did not print it. PO can not do it.
The only way that the Post Office can do a label for you is if you choose the "QR" code, and save it to your telephone. Then take it to the PO to get the label. Some offices do not have that capability.

I am not sure if I made a mistake in the listing. I guess I just send it to the address given, I don't know what else to do! Either that or cancel the sale!

Let's try this a different way...
Go to your Seller Hub/Orders. Do you see Shipping Labels to your lower left? If so, tick on that and see what pops up when the page re-loads. You should see the order with a blue 'Actions' button. You should be able to reprint from that menu. Fingers crossed for you...

I followed each of your steps, nada! I am stuck, I gotta get to other work today. Attached is something I found, not sure it helps, but it's what I got.

Well, you've stumped the panel. I did plug that number into the USPS site, and it reads as shown here. Dang!
Go do your other things and come back and try later. Maybe it's a simple 'glitch' that will correct itself. If not, we'll get to work on it again tonight.
When you come back, use your '@' symbol and tick on my user name when it pops up. That way, I'll know you're back. 🙂

Look on your shipping label history page here, @3z3ki3l2517 and choose reprint under actions.

You did not make a mistake in the listing.
You have purchased a label, but did not print one.
You can not "reprint" that label. That has to be done within 24 hours.
You need to use the link provided by wastingtime in post 21
There you will see the item that you sold.
Use "Actions" >
Void the label that you purchased. A label can only be "reprinted" for 24 hours.
You will need to "void" the label to get refunded for your payment. Refund takes 2-3 weeks to show up. You have 5 days from date of purchase to void the label.
From that same "Actions" you will be able to purchase/print a "NEW" label.
That Tracking # will populate to the order.
The old label # will still show in "view order details" along with the new label #.
That will not be a problem.

Ah, you're right Jack. I completely forgot about the 24 hour window to reprint. I download all my labels to PDF when I buy them so I hardly ever have to reprint from the venue.

Yup, OP could print if that was done your way, but seems finding that label is not going to happen, so the alternate route via your link😊

This feels almost anti climatic, but when I returned about 20 minutes ago, I was able to print a label. This is so odd. I mean, I had a screen showing me the computer had already been sent. Well, thank you to everyone for helping me here. I really appreciate it!!!

As soon as you purchase a label eBay automatically shows shipped. Just the way it works. Helps us keep track of what still needs to be shipped, as opposed to those items that we have purchased a label for.
Great. Just want to check.
Did you print the label with the tracking # from the 25th, or a new label???
Status of the # from the 25th is just showing as "label created" at USPS dot com.
If you printed a new label with a new tracking #, be sure to go back to "Actions" to void the label purchased on the 25th that you did not use. You have 120 hours (until 1:06AM on Nov 30th )from time of purchase to void the label.

I'm late to the party and see that the issue has been resolved but thought I'd mention this possibility.
When @3z3ki3l2517 said she "got a USPS number. I took it to USPS and they didn't know what to do with it," my assumption was that she chose the QR code option rather than the shipping label. (I've never done the QR code because I'm afraid they wouldn't know what to do with it at the p.o!)
Make sure you've checked the correct format!
