Hi. I am fairly new here. I sold a few things a few years back & recently started up again . I have already had a couple issues with returns and felt a little lost. I just wanted a little feedback on when ebay will support a seller because I am losing money with both returns.
1. I sold a watch. It is a new watch. It had never been opened to push the knob in. The buyer received the watch & claimed it did not work. Messaged me in the return to tell me he attempted to change the battery himself (voiding the warranty) & couldn't get it to work. I honored the return & ate the shipping cost both ways. Will ebay refund any of the fees as it is now unsellable?
2. A buyer wished to return items of clothing. He bought a lot of women's clothing. He filed the return claim as "does not seem authentic" then in the description he stated "I didn't care for ONE item. I misunderstood the listing." Every item was authentic & branded as described in the listing. I don't want to escalate it but I am afraid ebay will force the return anyways.
Not sure what to do. Do sellers just basically have to return everything despite your stated return policy?

For #1, yes eBay will credit the final value fees. For #2, you have a chance at winning since the buyer basically admits remorse in the request notes. I would call customer service after the 3rd business day & have them read the buyers message and ask that the return be closed.

there is really no such thing as no return, item not as described trump your return policy.
ifhe loses on Ebay,he will go to Paypal and credit card issuer.
so let him return them and fight another day.
your no return means you dont want them back if you lose a dispute on EBAY.
THEY HAVE 30 DAYS on EBAY,BUT 180 DAYS ON PAYPAL AND CC ISSUER.
