Go back to the old post email sent out after purchasing that had all the useful information such as:
SUBJECT LINE: Item name and item #
Email body:
Here's your tracking number and shipment details:
Tracking number:
Shipping service:
Total label cost:
Shipped to:
Shipped from:
Item name (hyperlinked)
Item # :
Sale price:
End time:
Buyer ID:
YOU GUYS REMOVED ALL THIS INFORMATION IN YOUR POST EMAIL! NOW ITS USELESS! All you have is the useless subject line saying, "Your eBay label is ready" and the cost of the label! You dont even have the item name or item number of the label!
I know you can find out all that information on the shipping label page or seller's hub but that is only valid for so long. I rather have it in my email so I can keep things organized. Why would ebay downgrade the system provide less features in that email? Up until 3 months ago, the old email was sent out if the label was printed via the mobile app but now thats removed too.
Whats the point of the post email that is send out now?! It doesnt even associate the cost provided with the item name or number. USELESS!

I am asking for ebay to send the old format of the email that is sent after purchasing a shipping label. Look at the screenshots

I completely agree---totally worthless now. I tried to change my preferences to not even get them now, but they are still hanging around.

They need to either go back to the old email format or add the missing data/information to the new email

I raised this complaint in the Weekly Chat early last summer when they first introduced the rather useless new format of that confirmation message, and the only change I've noticed in the six months since is that the link to PayPal within the message now pops up a window with absolutely nothing in it. Previously it would pop up a Send Money window soliciting money to be sent to "Feedback at eBay" for no apparent reason.
Here is the original Weekly Chat posting, with comparison screenshots and a view of the bizarre Send Money popup that was embedded:
I added a reminder ping two weeks later:
brian@ebay responded later in the chat, "I asked for an update earlier this morning but haven't heard back yet. I'll keep trying though! I agree that the email should provide more information than it currently does."
That's the last activity that I have seen on this, other than the removal of the Send Money window, which looks like it might have just been a little joke planted by one of the programmers on the initial release of the new confirmation message design.
Brian, isn't there any way to poke the relevant "teams" with a stick and get them to pay attention to what is needed in the confirmation record email? We know someone has access to the code, since the joke PayPal beg window was removed. It's not even necessary to write specs for what's missing; it's just a matter of comparing the old message to the new one and restoring what got left out.
This is not difficult. It should not require six months to achieve. It's critical information for sellers, and more significantly, it was just fine until someone who was not skilled in coding decided to replace the entire confirmation message with a new one for no apparent reason. You're our interface and our representative with these teams, and we really need you to advocate for us, as we have no way of contacting them directly. Thanks!

Hi @a_c_green, thanks for reminding me about this! I do know that this has been brought to the attention of the shipping team. Sadly, I don't have any new information beyond this. I'll see if I can get an update.

Hi brian@ebay, can you please ask them to provide you with an update that you can present during tomorrow's Weekly Chat? That's more than 24 hours away, which should be enough time for whoever's in charge over there to do a walkaround in his department and report back to you. We're looking for some concrete status, something a little more detailed than "We're working on it" or "It's on our list," as the timeline for this goes all the way back to last May, and this is not a topic that will go away if ignored for long enough.
At a glance, it looks as if the old email (with all its transaction information) was generated off the old Shipping form, and the new, incomplete one is presumably generated off the new Shipping form. Nevertheless, the missing items of information all seem to be present somewhere in the new Shipping form already; it's just a matter of getting the necessary data fields plugged into the new outbound email to the seller. Thank you for your efforts on this.

Hopefully they do something about it soon and add al the missing information back

@a_c_green feedback that the shipping label emails lacking information related to the item/transaction was brought to the shipping teams attention, so they are aware of it. While this is the case, I haven't received any updates or new information about making changes to these emails or anything regarding their update road map for 2020. It's something that I'm definitely still working to get though!

Thank you, brian@ebay! I'll see what I can do to raise awareness of this problem. Much appreciated.
