I bought an computer mother board (110 usd) on ebay, which is defective. I contact the seller for a refund. He tell me he doesn't accept a refund but he will accept the return, check it, and send me a new one if it's defective.
But my mother board is used for a mining rig which produce 20$ a day so I cannot let the other pieces sit idly, I have to buy a replacement at a local store right away. I explained that to him and said I can only accept a refund, not a new mother board.
He did not reply, after that i receive a notice from ebay like in the attached image. But there's two things fishy about this.
1/ The address on "Seller return infomation" doesn't match the address from which i receive the item (I hide it because that might be his personal info).
2/ He then direct message me (we've been messaging through Resolution Center), and describe a completely different return policy (the return then send a replacement one) and tell me to ship a return to a different address (the one I received the item from)
What should I do ??

If the buyer wants a refund and not a replacement, the seller has to refund upon return so it doesn't matter what their 'policy' is.
Since the seller is paying for the return, it shouldn't matter if the address is different than the address the item was sent from but you do have to send the item back to the address that you were shown when the return was accepted. Since the seller mentioned the changed address in the resolution center, it might be ok sending it to the address he now wants it sent to but I would be uncomfortable about doing that. He just sounds a bit sketchy.
Perhaps someone else knows how it would work if the address label he sends to you has the return address set to the place that he shipped it from rather than the address that he originally asked it to be shipped back to? Does ebay insist that the item be sent back to the return address that was set up for that listing or can the seller change it on the label?

You will get a return label from ebay.
Use it.
You are not required to accept a replacement.

@zz.yamuraiha.zz_5 can you tell us where this was shipped from, and where it was shipped to?

OP - Did YOU start that return or is that a fake page the seller sent you so that you will make a huge mistake?
Did you go to the ebay resolution center and file a return request?
If you did not - file a Not Described dispute, not just a return.
And stop messaging the seller - go through ebay. And buy new from a reputable dealer that specializes in what you need that is near you next time.

I requested the return. I don't want to messaging the seller directly either, but he keeps messaging me through direct messages

It was shipped from within the country (Vietnam), but the address on the returning process is from another country (France)

Do not pay for the return shipping yourself: You will not get that money back. Contact eBay and eBay will put your case on hold for 5 days to allow the seller to issue a return label, send money to pay for a return label, or refund without return. If time expires, eBay will force a refund without return.
Everybody on eBay has an eBay account, but not everybody wants to have an account on those third-party websites where eBay has chosen to provide eBay customer support instead of on eBay's own website. Contact eBay on Facepoke or @AskeBay on Tritter.
