Need help with an international label.

We stopped offering international shipping several years ago, but occasionally we get a request and will add the option.   We added Priority mail international for Australia only on an item which sold last night.  When I go to print the label I see the buyer paid for that method, but I can only find the option to print Ebay International Standard Delivery and it doesn't state "buyer selected".

I also looked back at the listing and we didn't offer Ebay International Standard as an option.   So, where do I pick the correct method?  I see no list of other options on my label.

I THINK that's the only way to ship to Australia right now? USPS suspended service there some time ago, but not sure if that changed. My wife has sold some items to a regular customer of hers in Australia and I think the only way we could send it is through Ebay's Int'l Standard or GSP

Thank you, I wondered if there were still covid restrictions or something.   That makes sense.  So now I wonder if this is a mistake to ship at all.  If I use the ebay international standard, how is it delivered?

eBay International Standard Delivery is eBay's own product and they coordinate the shipping to the final destination.  Nothing to worry about, I have used it many times.

Package is only insured for up to $100.  If you need to insure for more than $100 you may want to consider a different shipper.

Ebay International Standard delivery is the only mail option being offered to Australia right now due to Covid restrictions. You can still pursue UPS or FedEx. However, those are very expensive options. Just be aware that EBay International Standard delivery is extremely slow & can take months for delivery.

Good luck!

Having shipped more than one item to Australia this way (it travels via USPS domestic mail to a consolidation center, then via DHL to its destination), I would agree that it's slow, but not that slow. A couple of weeks, maybe, and tracking can follow it all the way.

Hey @fern*wood. USPS suspended services to Australia back around Sept/Oct, however they recently resumed First Class Package International service. According to the USPS alerts page:

*Australia’s service disruption affects Priority Mail International® (PMI), International Priority Airmail® (IPA®) M-Bags, , International Surface Air Lift® (ISAL®) M-Bags, and Airmail M-Bags.

If your package weighs 4 lb or under you should be able to ship USPS FCPI. As you know, you could also use EISD - that service was never affected by the suspensions, nor were GSP shipments. EISD includes insurance that FCPI doesn't so you might prefer that method.

I ship to Australia with Asendia or with UPS Worldwide Expedited (through PirateShip).

I had simple envelopes returned to be from Australia due to the country closed to mail.

Be careful your stuff doesn't get returned like mine....added postage to be paid to resend.

Talk to your buyer and ask if post office is open to accepting packages and such.

The delivery times have varied from a few weeks all the way to a few months. I had one recently sit here in California for about one month, then it was routed to Auckland for 4 weeks, then a few more weeks at a Customs location in Australia, & then a few more weeks to reach SA. It's hot & cold! That is why said it can take a few months.
