Multiple items under one tracking number not adding. Glitch or change?

Hello,

Basically I've noticed the last few days that when a buyer buys multiple items (say one item and then another the next day), I'll combine them into one order. But when adding that tracking number to both orders, it only appears on the item that the label was printed/purchased. The 2nd item keeps showing "add tracking", which I've already done and won't update. Oddly, it does show the tracking number added when you click on the "add tracking" text and the text box comes up. It just doesn't fully add it to the order details if that makes sense.

Not sure if this is just another of ebay's daily glitches or some change with their system. Curious if anyone else has the same issue. Thanks.

Are you adding the tracking manually to each?  If so, I suggest you combine the orders in the Shipping Hub, put in the tracking number and let ebay apply it to all items selected.

This is an intermittent glitch, but usually it occurs when tracking is uploaded through the API from a third party shipping service. I've never seen it happen when tracking is added manually.

That said, I will echo the advice posted above. As long as you're purchasing shipping through eBay, you should use the bulk shipping tool and hit the combine button on the top left so eBay will automatically apply the same tracking number to all combined items.

Yeah I've tried that before. But ebay has a stroke if its too many items and won't allow you to do so.

I have had the same problem.  Haven't tried the suggestions above, but I will.

What usually happens, with me, I manually add the tracking and it shows on the item.  Refresh the page  and it is gone,  But after 10-15 minutes, I check back and the tracking is there.  Not the optimum system, but this is eBay.

I've noticed the same thing. The additional items also stay in 'awaiting shipment' then vanish once it updates the tracking.

This happened to me a couple of weeks ago and after a bit it seemed to self correct.  But it again happened to me today and no matter how many times I add in the tracking number for a combined shipment it won't stay put and they keep showing as not shipped after a good deal of time has passed.  No other option at this point but to do an on-line documented chat so that if I get hit with a delayed shipping metric I can show I reported this and that I added in tracking for a combined shipment.  If you click on the item to add tracking, the number I already input is actually there.  It just doesn't show up properly and keeps saying it still needs to be shipped.

Multiple items with one tracking number allows crooks to send a package that sould (example) have ten items but oYOU SEE AND RECONIZE THE nly a a few or worse just one of the items. Ebay sides with the seller because it shows delivered. Ebay knows this and has recently made changes to the PURCHASE HISTORY page that proves it. If an item says delivered their is no option to file an ITEM NOT RECEIVED case. Crooks defending crooks for profit.... YES EBAY....  YOUR CROOKED AND KNOW IT!  DO YOU NOT SEE AND RECONIZE THE TIMES WERE IN... HERE'S SOME ADVICE... GET IT TOGETHER OR BURN.
