Multiple items ordered... how does the shipping pan out?

How does ebay calculate shipping when the buyer orders multiple items? I've had to kick in money for shipping twice now because the shipping cost for the multiple items was too low to the buyer.

it all depends on HOW the seller has their site set.  It is the seller who sets up rules as to how combined shipping is handled.

It is HARD for sellers to do this especially if the items are of different sizes.  Either way the SELLER IS NOT allowed to ask you for more money once the item has been won and the shipping fees are calculated by how they set up their rules

How is your listing set up?

If you have it based on the weight of the item then for multiple purchases eBay will add the weights together and bill shipping based on that total weight.

One problem becomes if the multiple items on a single box exceed 1 cubic foot. Then you might find it cheaper to send 2 smaller boxes than 1 big box.

OR your item is designed to go first class mail, but several in a single package goes over 16 ounce and automatically kicks it into a 2 pound Priority Mail package. Again, compare the price of shipping each or a few in different FCM packages.
