Mis-Delivery

I would just give it back as return to sender.    It could be part of the fake tracking number scam.  To meet eBay's and most tracking a seller only need to send an item to the same zip code as the buyer.  A cheap item will do.  Then it shows delivered and the seller wins.

Is the address your address?  Could it be that it was sent to 10 Elm St. and it's supposed to go to 10 Elm Pl. ? The best thing to do is return to sender.  It's not your responsibility to deliver to the correct address.  Also how do you know it's from ebay? If you open it and find the seller's name then YOU have to pay to return it.  The best thing to do is RETURN TO SENDER.   YOu can drop it off at the post office if it's been misdelivered, the post office will deliver to the correct place.

I think you hit it on the head.  TO the poster,  take it to the post office and RETURN TO SENDER.  Help screw a scammer and save a poor buyer from losing their money.

It depends @sage.victo. If it's a clear mis-delivery that was supposed to go to a different address in your town, you can put a post-it note on the package saying 'delivered to wrong address' and leave it for your mail carrier. I've gotten packages meant to be delivered a couple streets over and my mail carrier was grateful to have the chance to correct their delivery error, and grateful I didn't write on the package/envelope and used a post-it instead.

If the address on the package is yours and just the name is off then you can write on the package 'refused - return to sender' and either leave it for your carrier or bring it to the PO.

If you're going to RTS, I'd take a pic of the shipping label just in case you end up needing it down the line - probably won't need it, but good to have as a reference just in case.
