when I list in the books & magazines category media mail is no longer a shipping option. Can anyone shed light on this?

I just listed a book in the book category and chose media mail. Something is not right here.

Nothing wrong here @evry1nositswindy. The magazines category (subcategory under books) does not allow sellers to select MM because magazines are not eligible. It's like this across many categories where sellers have been abusing MM. OP's listing in question is the Cook's Illustrated lot which is listed in the magazines category.

Cook's Illustrated also comes in book form. All 12 months are bound in books. I have several myself. No ads inside. This should be in the book category. @wastingtime101

OP's listing is for the magazine version, not the book form, and it's listed in the magazine category. Take a look at the listing.

@wastingtime101 I will--didn't look first. With the number mentioned in the thread, I assumed it was in book form. My bad!

Consumer Reports also falls into that category.
Even without ads, periodicals aren't eligible for MM.
