Good Day!
I want to order some items from a single seller on eBay with tracking number. I contacted the seller about it and he responded that a tracking number would cost me additional fee.
I'm ok with paying it and the seller asked me to create an "Unpaid Order" so that they can add the fee to the order and I could pay it all on eBay.
Problem is that I could not find a way to make such Unpaid Order.
I'm using PayPal to pay.
What is an Unpaid Order that the seller refers to and how can I create one?
Could you help me on this?
I have seen unpaid items only on auctions, but this is not the case I don't have auction items won in the order.
Thanks,
Anton.

Hi @anto-donch I think the seller would like you to add the items you want to your ebay cart and then use the "request invoice" button, this will commit you to buy the items without paying and he can send a single invoice for the entire order. Also, tracking is for the sellers protection, you don't receive your order and he has no tracking, you get a full refund. I don't know if he is actually allowed to charge for a tracking number but if he ships using an untrackable method and is going to upgrade to a trackable method, i think thats allowed.

I agree with Jen. Paying for a tracking number is a simple way of saying that he will upgrade the shipping. Nothing wrong with that other than the odd way of stating it, most likely due to a potential language barrier, i.e. seller's first language not being English.
Not only is tracking for the seller's protection, it's other purpose is to keep up your seller rating as shipping on time is a component of maintaining a preferred status.

This is the error that eBay gives me:
The seller does not offer combined shipping discounts.Either the seller has disallowed combined payments and shipping discounts, or the time period specified by the seller for combined payments has expired. Please proceed to checkout to complete your purchase.
Error code: 80303

@anto-donch You are located in Bulgaria, are you trying to purchase from a US Seller who ships to your country? I do not believe USPS offers tracking there with the Delcon electronic tracking service. The Seller may have to use a different carrier ... cost could be considerable. Not sure why you no longer get the choice to request an updated invoice for the multiple purchase.

I'm trying to buy from China and their free shipping options listed in the items I want to buy doesn't have tracking number, so I agreed with the seller that I pay a small fee to add one and I'm ok with that.
Problem is that I still cannot figure out how to request invoice for the items I've chosen.

China tracking is hopeless [I've found].
You have all these item listings in 'Orders' list?
If so, find the associated contact seller link and send message requesting they cancel any existing invoice and issue a new invoice that includes shipping charges [if you want to pay for something of little merit].

The better way to go would have been adding easch item to Shopping Cart and then making request for invoice and payment via Cart page. Because they are all 'free shipping' the 'combined shipping rate' isn't relevant. The seller will probably consolidate the items and ship in one package anyway.

I cannot see such option on my cart page. Maybe it is not available for my country?
The only options I see is Continue Shopping and Proceed to Checkout. There is an option Request total from seller, but that is only available when I have item which has shipping and in this case it's the option that errored out.
It’s not because of your country. The cart is perpetually broken and when eBay started requiring immediate payment on buy it now listings, the request total button disappeared. The seller can still send an invoice since you have committed to buy the items.

I haven't seen such option in the first place and I have looked for it since you mentioned it in the first post.
Could you please send me a screenshot of where this request invoice button/link is located on the cart screen?
It would really help me in future orders.

I don’t have a screen shot at the moment but IF the request total button is on the cart, it will be in the top right corner—you’ll see the sellers name all the way to the left, and the request total link/button is on the right. But like I said, that option stopped appearing when eBay made some changes.

Now @mr_lincoln did you really think they were going to fix it? It’s been broken for what 3+ years now? Lol yes it’s not fixed yet, that’s why the OP didn’t have the option to request an invoice 😞
