I just spent the morning reading review after review of this place having lost, stolen, severely delayed packages.
It seems this is one of, if not the worse USPS Sort Facility in the country. Probably major corruption at this place.
I have a Priority package stuck there for 4 days now and in the package is an item worth over 500 bucks that I was planning to sell on ebay.............
I just filed a complaint regarding this specific facility after reading too many reviews from people with lost or severely delayed packages. I encourage anyone else having a problem with this facility to file a complaint here: https://www.uspsoig.gov/uspsoig-contact

Why don't you go down to your local PO and have a trace ran on the number and package.

Those reviews are from several years ago I live about 60 miles from this sort center and have sent 10 priority packages within the last week and the all went thru with no holdup

I recently had an issue with the same facility. I had shipped some liquid sanitizer Priority Mail & double boxed & packed well so nothing was moving around. I also used a lot of extra tape. The package was showing at Elk Grove the entire time. The buyer finally received the the item about 3 & 1/2 weeks late completely damaged.

You would be wrong to assume Elk Grove is the worse. Detroit was voted #1 worse by USPS metrics last year. That doesn't mean Elk Grove didn't finish in the top 10, though.
You should contact your local Postmaster. They have the ability to trace your package right down the sack or pallet of all the other mail condensed with it at the USPS Plant. They also have the ability to contact that facility and communicate to them what's going on. Filing a report with the USPS is good, but you should also contact your Congressperson via their website. It takes just a few minutes to do so online. Be specific with the tracking number and dates. Reach out to the District Consumer Affairs Office for help also. Good luck.

Sounds like you should review how you package these types of items or you will continue to obtain the same results. It may also be against USPS policy to ship these as they are considered flammable. Just saying.
