Macbook Switcheroo Forced Return

Hello All,

I'll try to keep this brief even though I am positive there is nothing I can do and I should just bite the bullet.

The consensus of replies similar to this topic

"It doesn't matter what you do, you are going to come out a loser."

We sold a used Macbook Pro and the buyer sent a photo of a different Macbook with a different serial number.

Since the return request was for "item not as described" I am forced to accept the return.

I've only denied one return ever and that was because it was close to 60 days after purchase.

The buyer has already let me know that they will leave negative feedback.

After I accept the return and do receive the wrong computer is there any grain of hope that this works out in my favor?

Kindest Regards,

William S.

File fraud and theft with law enforcement; their also if you can. Don,t forget the federal level also.

Got to love serial numbers: report it to the company as stolen also....

@mummylittlemonst

It just hit me.... another tact you could take.

IF the buyer hasn't shipped yet, write them a NICE note, NON ACCUSATORY.  Say that you note that the pictures they sent were of a different serial number than what you shipped to them.  That must mean that there was theft or a switcherooo during transit.  State that you do not like the USPS to be stealing from you and as such state that you will be filing theft reports with the USPS Postal Inspector and that their rep will likely be contacting them for additional information.  KEY is to not accuse the buyer of ANY wrong doing

Do that and often it moves a scammer off of their scam, when the light gets shone on their little game.

Classic return fraud.  It's sad buy has become all to common on eBay.  It's know the world over as a great place to get free stuff.  If your "buyer" has bee reported for that in the past, there is a slight chance you might win.
