MISLEADING ADVERTISEMENT!

So I am interesetd (as a new memeber to E-Bay) in purchasing an item (263095414113) Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 4.5-14x44 Scope from a seller in Hong Kong. Advert sates under shipping: Will ship to South Africa. Read item description or contact seller for shipping options. | See details

So I contact the seller, ampletex (18770 ), regarding shipping costs as there is no clear inidcation in the advert, only to recieve the following return message.

New message: Sorry,  I don't ship this item to South Africa.

So where is the catch?  Trying to get this message through to E-Bay is so complicated and gets you nowhere.

The sellers actually shipping to South Africa actually cost quite a bit more:

It looks to me like it was an issue in setting up the listing. He selected "world wide shipping" as a listing option but didn't bother excluding the ones he doens't want to ship to.  Or maybe he just wants the option to pick and chose who he will sell to in your country.

You can't make him ship and eBay can't either so you will need to find another seller willing to ship to you.
