Lost tracking number, what to do?

Hi 

So I know it's a stupid mistake but it happened. I had it in my lap and got out of the car 15 minutes after dropping it off. I called the post office I dropped it off at and they didnt answer. It was near closing. I'm just wondering what my options are?

Basically what I see online, there is no options. Is that true?

It's frustrating, I feel like I just dropped 150 out of my lap.

You should not need the tracking number unless there is an issue. Don't give your buyer any ideas by contacting them.  If you purchased postage on line, you can get it. If not, you can try and call the 800 number on the USPS web site. However, I don't think they can help with that.
