Hi There,
I just sold an item that was listed for USPS shipping in the US only. The person who bought it is in Canada, and was able to select “local pick up only.” There is now no option for me to purchase shipping, plus I have never shipped to Canada.
Do I cancel the sale? This is all very fishy. For reference, the buyer has not paid. Thanks!

Have you contacted the buyer and asked them when they wish to arrange to pick up their item?

Thanks for the reply! I have not, as they have not paid. This is my first go for something like this. Is it typical that the seller reach out in this regard?

That is what I would do if a buyer had selected local pickup. However, I would check your listings to make sure that the local pickup option wasn't included in any others if you do not wish it.
To avoid having to ship internationally, you should make sure that your settings allow for US shipping only.

Thank you! I will do so.
I find it very odd that the listing was previously USPS only, but this option appeared upon the sale. I was extra diligent to list all of my items correctly, but I wonder if this occurred when I relished the item? It’s a good lesson to always double check. have you ever heard of something similar happening?

Does it actually say local pick up on the invoice or is it just blank?
Is this for the Spanish Teacher barbie? There is no pick up option on that listing so if is does specify pick up, I have no idea why. You do have gsp on some of your sold and active listings but not on that particular listing. If you don't want to use the gsp for those listings, you will need to change that but someone else will have to explain how because I don't know how to do that.
In most cases, the buyer shouldn't be able to pay if they are using a Canadian address since there is no shipping price to Canada so you could cancel it using problem with address. By stating that you ship to the US, that doesn't actually block people in other countries from bidding. To block them, go to account/site preferences/buyers requirements and check off 'block buyers with a primary shipping address in a country that I don't ship to.' Then apply that to all your current and future listings. Then..unless you have specified that you ship to a country, buyers there won't be able to purchase that listing unless they have a US address.
