Label created, but no further USPS update after 4 days

Seller said item was picked up and tracking should be updated soon.  i'm pretty sure they haven't sent it.  There was other feedback of them doing the same thing, creating a label but shipment never moved. Also items being received that were misrepresented.  The  feedback on the seller was 97% positive so I thought maybe these were isolated incidents.  Very frustrated, needed the item ASAP, I'm fairly sure item hasn't been shipped, do I have to wait until after the last day of estimated delivery for ebay to step in?

97 % for a small seller may not be representative of their service,as a ding or 2 can lower, but when a big seller is 97%, as you see, not so good, there are many dings.

Policy would be that you would need to wait until after the last estimated delivery date to open an "item not received".

Likely various reasons for it happening.

Sometimes scans do not get in the system as they should.

Last Saturday I shipped 7 items. My carrier scanned all. Had he not done that some of my buyers may have been a bit upset, as 3 of the 7 failed to get a "regional facility" scan when they processed there. Nothing more until they were in a facility near the buyers 4 days later.

Hopefully something will pop up on yours.

For the seller, refunding for an INR may be less detrimental to the account than cancelling for "out of stock". Cancel defects are bad for a seller. INR that they respond to, and refund to are not a good thing, but do not reflect as badly on the seller.

Feedback no longer counts for the eBay account standing anymore, so getting neutral/negative does not harm the account other than how a buyer perceives them. A 97 in school would be very impressive. On eBay, not so much.

I am going through the same thing right now myself, been 6 days since I bought a lot of shirts and it shows label created but usps is waiting for item...pretty much says it hasn't been shipped, just because they printed the label doesn't mean they have physically taken it to the post office....I messaged the seller yesterday that if he doesn't want to ship it then I want my money back,  I haven't heard back...being a seller myself I always ship next day... my buyers shouldn't have to wait.

Are you saying that information, as in seller's FB, was not available to you when you were shopping?

And: FYI:  97% isn't great.  Furthermore, if you need an item ASAP, then you should be shopping at a B&M store.

Yes, you do have to wait til one day after the last estimated delivery date to open an item not received case.

yeah, I messaged the seller and said if it wasn't shipped by yesterday I want a  refund, said he can't because it's been shipped, give us 24 hours to contact the post office, sounds like **bleep**.

I thought 97% was ok , there's always a few disgruntled buyers if alot of items have been sold.  I'll know better next time.

Well, it seems that your seller is convinced that the item shipped. (or they will ship now)

That being said, you have given the seller a "get out of jail free card" by asking for the refund. They can use your message as a "buyer request to cancel". When a buyer requests to cancel (even when tricked into it) the seller can cancel without a defect assessed to their account.

I have learned that whenever you need an item rightaway , that is the item that will be shipped late, delayed or lost.   Don't wait until the last moment to buy a birthday gift.  Also do your checking before you buy.  Keep in mind, that once a USPS label is printed by a seller , they are charged.  They can void it before the 5th day.

In your case, I wonder if the seller is a drop shipper and order the item to his house and it got delayed.  Anyway, like the others told you, nothing can be done until the last estimated delivery date has arrived.

I have had the same thing happen to me... Label created, then.... Nothing. In those cases, I would just wait figuring I'd check with the seller by the last EDD if the item didn't arrive.

If the seller said they did indeed ship, I'd wait a few weeks longer... Then file an INR after that if nothing arrived. Pretty much all you can do.

Sometimes, the seller might have had an emergency, or other issue that prevented them from shipping, and I cut them slack. I don't order anything I need bad enough to put a seller out when they have bigger issues. Anyone who does that is... Well... You know.

To those who forgot to ship, or something negligent, like dropping on a city street hoping the PS would pick it up and scan it,  I'd still give them the day or next to ship, then INR. That was on THEM, their responsibility, and they blew it.

BUT ...either way, If it hasn't come by the time it was supposed to , you can use the money back guarantee and get your refund.

Reddest feedback I've ever seen.

Somehow the link goes straight to showing only negatives, if you click on feedback received as a seller it’s not as bad…

… but it’s not great.
