3 packages I shipped Saturday here in RI had no scans of any kind until a few minutes ago -- they were going from me in RI to NY, PA and KS, respectively.
All three now have the following:
"Arrived at USPS Regional Facility
Apr-15-20, 07:42 AM, SEATTLE WA NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTER"
The good news is they scanned -- but at the other end of the country! Could it be an error -- or is this how they're starting to handle overflow from closures??

Sorting error probably and they will reroute

Could be.
I checked and 1 other package -- going from RI to NJ -- also ended up in Seattle this morning.
The other 10 or so packages I shipped Saturday in the same batch got to their respective destinations fine, however. Weird...but this is certainly a weird time!

When USPS places your parcels on the wrong conveyor belt as soon as they travel off course from their intended destination they disappear from tracking until they reach the end of the line, are sent back the way they came and are scanned somewhere relevant to their intended destination. I shipped a package to Texas but it disappeared from tracking after leaving my local USPS distribution center. Once it reached Boston and they figured out that they couldn't send it Out for Delivery from there, they sent it back. It didn't show in tracking again until it got back to Dallas. These details are hidden from the shipper as soon as a package is scanned somewhere its not supposed to be. My friend, the local Postmaster at my local Post Office gave me the details and explained these policies.

I think everyone is doing better than me. I shipped roughly ***100*** 1st class mail packages last Saturday and this Monday (4-13-2020) and all show "ACCEPTED" but nothing else. Buyers have been emailing me nonstop and a few have opened cases after I already told them about severe delays. I worry the USPS could put me straight out of business. Had to close my store as I am worried........very worried.

As a retired Postmaster and USPS IT Mgr of 35 years that is incorrect. Scans are not hidden ever. There is nothing programmed into the delivery scanning software that would allow it. Ask your Postmaster what he or she has been smoking. You can tell them I said to ask. 🙂 Good luck!
