Item stuck in transit - what to do?

Dear eBayers,

I am a seller (Czech Republic). I received a payment from a buyer (US) so I immediately packed and shipped the item. Everything worked out well until it arrived in USPS (International service center) in New York. It's been stuck there (in transit) ever since (it has been 35 days). The buyer has asked me to take action. What should I do now? Thanks so much for your help and advice.

You can contact USPS directly https://www.usps.com/help/contact-us.htm

Afterwards let the buyer know that they have been contacted, and stay in communication with updates.

Otherwise not much else. This is a carrier issue.
