Item missing during shipment

Hello,

I need some suggestions for my situation.

The buyer won two of my auctions. She contacted me to send her these two items in one shippment and I did. Upon package arrival, she contacted me that she received just one item, not two.

Is it possible that the item was stolen by USPS and repacked? How should I do with this situation?

Please advice.

Thanks.

Re: Item missing during shipment

That sounds really suspicious. Did your buyer mention if the package was opened when she received it?

Usually, USPS includes a sorry note with packages like that.

Was the package insured? Did your buyer send photos?

Don't dive to deep into this with your buyer.  Keep communication short and professional.  You are not on the hook for this unless you make yourself on the hook for it.

What I mean is that IF you had the tracking posted on both the transaction in Ebay as the same tracking number, you are covered via Ebay as to BOTH items being delivered if your tracking states that.

Chances are good that your buyer doesn't know that and is just trying to get some money out of you.  Send an email back to your buyer, but do NOT offer explanation on how this may have happened.  Stay polite but firm that both items were in the package when the package left your hands.

If the package had been breached or torn up when the buyer received the item, one would think they would have shared that with you.  Since they didn't, unless it was by magic, I'm not sure how one item would have escaped and the other is fine!

What kind of items are these?

Check your buyer out a little.  Some of the most telling information can be found on their FB page.  Not the FB they receive, but in the FB they leave for others.  Take a look at what they say about sellers and see if you can find something that may tell you that they have done this to other sellers.

False.

The buyer simply has to file a SNAD complaint saying that they only received one item.

If the tracking was loaded into Ebay on both items and the tracking number is the same on both items, the seller can win any claim the buyer may file.

First off if the buyer were to file a SNAD, it would be in direct conflict of what the buyer has described by saying the item was NOT in the package.  To claim it to be a SNAD would be a complete lie that the buyer's own email proves is a lie.

Second, if the buyer were to try and file an INR, all the seller has to do is put the tracking on the claim that shows it was delivered and it would get closed because the tracking shows delivered.

I did ask earlier in the thread if the OP had loaded tracking numbers on Ebay for both purchases, but the OP has not responded.  I don't know if they intend to participate in their thread.
