It says the package hasn't been received by USPS but it is supposed to come by today or Monday

9 days ago I recently bought a Yashica MG 1 (a film camera) I check the guy and the reviews and the location thinking "This seems to be what I want." The person is from PA so its not from a foreign country. But every time I check the package it still says it hasn't even arrive to the USPS. But there was a shipping label that was made but the package hasn't arrived to USPS. I don't know if the person used a different shipping company then the one they stated or what. Just want feedback on what to do, If it arrives on time the ill let yall know

Is it a USPS Tracking number?  If you enter it on the USPS website, does it say that a label has been created? Could be that either the seller hasn't mailed it, or USPS hasn't scanned it which has been happening a lot nowadays. All you can do is wait and see it it arrives on time. If it doesn't open an INR case the next day.

There are a few reasons for no tracking progress shown.

  1. Seller didn't actually ship the item.  (usually not what happened)
  2. Seller had a large number of packages and used a "scan sheet"  That sheet was scanned at the PO, but individual items on the scan sheet were sent on their way without an initial acceptance scan.
  3. Seller dropped the package off in a collection bin or at a USPS counter and did not wait in line to get an acceptance scan - item was combined with other packages and sent on its merry way.

So if this package hits a sorting center it should get scanned, OR it might not get scanned until it is "out for delivery."

You need to be patient, USPS is SWAMPED with packages at volumes no one ever imagined!  They are doing what they can with employee shortages due to COVID.  Shipping times are taking longer than expected.

So yes, you have the right to file a Item Not Received (INR) case the day AFTER the last estimated delivery date.  I would wait a week and see if there is progress.  Of course you could start the Missing Mail <{click link} process to see if that jars things loose and gets the package moving.

So some thoughts and options for you.
