As i understand it, i keep the "regular" shipping fees. Ebay adds on a extra amount for the GSP that they keep.

Other than asking the buyer, is there any way i can find out what the buyer paid for shipping?

I would not ask the buyer - I am just one of the passive/aggressive folks, which is good/bad way to be at times 🙂 If my memory serves me correct, I had a buyer from Norway/Sweden (I can't remember the exact country) and she won an item from me and it was a GSP shipment. When I sent the invoice, it showed the total with the order/shipping to Kentucky and the amount for shipping & VAT/Tax. The VAT/Tax was near the amount of the item that she won. I offered FC afterward, but she never responded, so I ended filing the NPB.

That was about a year and a half ago so I do not know if it changed. I forgot this, if you change the country in the shipping, then the total amount may show - that could have changed too. Hope this helps a bit 🙂

I believe that you can see in the order details? I don't use the gsp but I know there is an area where you can see what they paid.

As someone else suggested you can also look on your listing as a buyer, click on the shipping tab and change your location to see what they are going to pay for shipping. You won't be able to see if or what they are charged for import fees though. Buyers can't see that now until they add the item to a cart.

To give you an example...I'm in Canada and if I purchased 2 of your Dole Pineapple Hard Candy I would pay $24.10 in shipping and $6.68 in import fees. The province I live in has low provincial tax...in another province their import fees might be $3 or $4 more. If I purchased one, it would be $21.21 in shipping, zero import fees.

That does help. Thank you! So GSP to Canada would be $21.21 for 1 bag, $30.78 for 2 bags ..... versus $5 and $8. Wow that's quite a hefty mark up.

What i don't like is that buyers often think that money is going ot the seller. I once had a GSP buyer complan to me about my high shipping prices on a item that only had a $4 or $5 shipping charge. I had to explain to them that the extra money they are paying does not go to me.

After they have paid, if the buyer actually looks at what was paid and to who it was paid for, they will see what you were paid for shipping and what PB was paid.

The $21 for one also includes the $5 that you charge plus a $5 or so handling charge fee so the international shipping portion is really only about $10...about the same cost as shipping direct.

The $30 for 2 includes $10 for your portion of the shipping (gsp combines international shipping but not the domestic portion) and $6+for handling charge and federal tax.

I'm not saying whether you should or should not use the gsp but when you consider that a buyer would pay double for shipping in this case, you can see why some avoid the gsp, especially for lighter items. Obviously some must be willing to pay though.
