Is there a way to request a partial refund through eBay?

Kind of a unique situation for me.   I bought some computer stuff on eBay recently, and when they came in the mail I realized the seller had sent me the wrong item.  I messaged him, he said yes it was his mistake and he mixed up my order with someone else's and sent my item to another guy.  He told me he would tell the other buyer that got my items to ship my items back to me, and the seller asked me to ship the incorrect stuff I got in the mail to the correct buyer and the seller would reimburse me for the cost of forwarding the mail.  I did so and never got the partial refund for fowarding the mail to the correct buyer.  Luckily, I did end up eventually receiving the correct computer stuff in the mail fromthe other buyer (although I have yet to test them, hopefully they work).  I've now asked the seller 3 times to send me a partial refund for forwarding the mail to the correct buyer (he himself said he would reimburse me when this mix up first became apparent) and he hasn't responded to that request.  I have receipts for proof of me shipping it to the correct buyer.  Is there any way I can request a partial refund through the eBay system, rather than deal with this seller who isn't responding to my messages?  I do not want to return the computer stuff altogether, as I do need them, and even if I did return my items through the eBay system, I would still not be refunded for the cost of forwarding the mail since I believe eBay will just refund the purchase price of the computer parts, not the additional cost of me forwarding the mail (I created a shipping label on Paypal directly to forward the items to the correct buyer).    Luckily this is all inexpensive stuff, and I am using this mixup as a learning experience as to what I should do in the future if a similar situation ever arises.

There is no way you can force the seller to reimburse you. I feel it would be in their best interest to do so since they did say they would. If you ended up opening a not as described case because there turned out to be something wrong with your items, you still wouldn't get whatever it was you spent on fixing the seller's mistake.

I personally would never fix a seller's mistake for them out of my own pocket.
