Hi all, I made a purchase on ebay and the seller shipped my order via ChitChat US Tracked and assured me multiple times that the order shipped FROM the USA (Niagara Falls, NY) but the tracking number shows Chitchat that the package departed Vaughan, Ontario on Wednesday with no updates since. The same tracking number shows that the item arrived at a ChitChat facility in Niagara Falls NY on Wednesday with no updates since. I contacted ChitChat and got a generic and automated response. I'm concerned that my shipment is lost, stolen or simply forgotten and simply just sitting in a warehouse collecting dust never to be seen again. The ebay listed stated the shipping would be within 4 days (I know that's a rough estimate) and shipped via USPS FIRST CLASS mail but the USPS says Parcel Select (complete opposite as Parcel select is slow). I'm just wondering if anyone here has any experience with Chitchat and have had similar issues? I don't understand why neither the ChitChat NOR USPS tracking has updated. I'm also concerned as to why the seller assured me my order woukd ship from the USA and there would be absolutely no customs or taxes paid but the Chitchat tracking says the item was in Vaughan Ontario.

ChitChat is a company that collects packages in Ontario, and transports them across the border so that they can be shipped by USPS. It's a perfectly legitimate company, and there are some sellers on here who use them and have not had major issues with them. Canada Post shipping is quite expensive, compared to USPS postage (which is quite cheap compared to most non-third-world countries), so the seller was trying to save you money. The seller was perfectly correct in saying that the item would be shipped by USPS, from the USA.
The USPS tracking will begin once the USPS receives the package and scans it. In my experience, the USPS is not scanning packages promptly when they are received, and sometimes the package may be dropped off at the post office for several days before they start to process it. This varies with the type of shipping service that was used, and probably at different USPS facilities around the country as well.
I would not get overly concerned about this, because nothing that you can do will have any effect at this point. The package should be delivered by the last estimated delivery date, but you can't do anything until then, so it's best not to get upset about it.

I've never heard of ChitChat and know nothing about it.
If you don't receive your order by the estimated delivery date that Ebay gave you, open an Item Not Received case a couple days after.

Thank you for your input! I'm just confused the listing was listed with "Free 4 Day Shipping" and obviously it's going to take much longer than four days and I don't understand why it's been sitting in New York for almost three days without any activity. I don't understand why something would sit for two+ days in a warehouse. This is poor customer service as the listing listed "Free Four Day Shipping" and guaranteed by Monday, October 24th. Also, I was assured multiple times my order would NOT go thru customs as it ships from WITHIN the United States but if it was Vaughan, Ontario it'll clearly be opened and inspected by customs and possibly held for taxes/customs. I just don't understand why the seller said it would ship via USPS First Class and then use a shady (unreliable third party company that'll clearly take more than 4 days and have a possiblity of losing it)

As far as "4 day free shipping" eBay puts that on, NOT the seller. It is based on how quickly their packages are usually delivered, based on recent past experience. So that is evidence that ChitChat USUALLY managed to deliver the packages very quickly. It's disappointing that your package is being processed a bit slower than most, but that doesn't mean either that the seller lied, or that ChitChat is not reliable. They are reliable, and fast, most of the time. They have a better reputation than USPS, actually, and it could very well be that it is USPS that is causing the delay this time. They often don't "accept" or process deliveries of packages in a timely manner, if the facility happens to be short-staffed at the time.
Most of my recent packages were mailed by USPS, from within the USA, and the post office did not "accept" them or show them as "received" for several days after they were mailed ... but they were all delivered a few days earlier than the last estimated delivery date, none-the-less. Those delays were purely from the USPS not accepting the packages right away, but they were delivered on time.
There won't be any customs charges, because ChitChats has brokered it across the border, and the package is already in the USA. It has already cleared customs, and there were no charges.
You don't seem to be very fair about this. You seem to want to have something to be angry about. That is not being fair. There's no need to look for something to go wrong.

It's a Canada to US thing as @lacemaker3 said. I only know about it because Sindex uses it a lot and I asked her about it one time.

Hi all, I apologize for the confusing comments. I'm an anxious person and always assume the worse when my anxiety is high. Upon checking the tracking information it appears my order has indeed moved and should hopefully be on it's way to me. Again, I apologize for the trouble. Thank you all for your assistance!
