Is it safe to buy an item to get forward shipped?

So a few days ago, I wanted to get some figures that were on ebay, but the sellers won't provide international shipping and I didn't want to wait in case another person buys them. So I eventually found a forwarding service that can buy the items. The first batch, I paid for a lot of things. But I decided to get the last item that cost less (no pictures to prove that had the item and I have to use his address to get the item to his location) since it's from the same person.

But I wanna ask you guys if this is safe? If the sellers would've made the items international, then I would've had to go through all these hoops just trying to get these figures.

You would have to find a shipping service you can trust.  Also, there is no ebay protection on reshipped items as the seller has no control on what happens with them.

My issue is if the seller would get fishy why I'm buying at item to someone else who lives in a different country. Mainly since I used my credit card from my country to buy the item.

Some newer, inexperienced sellers post about being concerned when a buyer has an item shipped to another country (or however your particular freight forwarder works), but they usually receive reassurances here on the discussion boards that transactions involving freight forwarders are generally no more problematic that any other transaction.

Seasoned sellers understand all about freight forwarders and don't have a problem with a buyer who uses one.

I don't sell internationally as  it's very expensive to ship internationally and I don't want to be responsible for lost or delayed packages.   I also don't want to worry about paying return shipping.  However, there have been a number of buyers that used freight forwarders to purchase my items.  I'm only responsible for getting the package to the freight forwarders address here in the USA.  I know it's an international buyer afterwards because the PayPal fees are higher for non U.S. payments.  I've been OK with that, but may change that too.

This eBay ID @20_percent_awesome @20_percent_awesome is registered in US, so your seller wouldn't detect International forwarding, as your shipping address is to "his address" in US.

But if you paid with your credit card via PayPal, your seller would know, since the transaction fee is higher for a foreign credit card.

Otherwise, if you used your credit directly at eBay Checkout, you're paying eBay (through PayPal), and then eBay pays your seller, so it might go undetected.

The item that is coming from is Australia, but I haven't got any updates since I bought it early yesterday morning, and I don't know if the seller is suspicious about me sending an item to an actual location in that country, or the seller isn't gonna ship it yet until they get more items getting sold?

Yesterday morning isn't enough time to worry about it. Give the seller a couple of days to get it sent.

I haven't personally using a shipping forwarder, but I have sold to buyers using a forwarder many times with no issue. I ship overseas, so I am not sure why buyers use them,  but I heard the shipping forwarders will gather items from multiple sellers for one buyer so maybe that is the reason.
