I need to void a label but ebay won't let me do that

I had the wrong "ship from" address on a label.

I need to void the old label and print a new one.

I go to "Track and manage your shipments"

When I try to void or cancel it, I get this message:

"

Cancel a shipping label
This label does not need to be voided because we'll charge you only once the shipping label has been used.

"

So now I'm stuck; I can't make a new label until I void the old one, and I can't void the old one because it hasn't been used.

As long as the "ship to" address is correct - use the label you have.

You could also cross off the wrong address on The Return part and write in the correct one. Or you could even use a white label or sticker to cover it up and write the new one.

Apparently you purchased a label for UPS or FedEx? As noted in that message, you aren't charged if you don't use the label.  IIRC, the charge for UPS will show up at first but then UPS automatically voids the label if it isn't used within a few days after purchase.   So don't worry about voiding; just purchase an appropriate label.

As mentioned above @molentai , there is no need to void the label. The amount you're seeing on your transaction is just an estimate for the label you generated, not an actual charge. UPS/FedEx labels have a delayed billing process so if the label isn't used you won't be billed for it.

That said, starting this month eBay is beginning to convert seller accounts from charging UPS and FedEx labels after delivery, to paying upfront at the time they're generated. Clearly your account hasn't been switched over yet, but keep an eye out on future label purchases.

If you need help updating your ship from address let us know. You should update it on the label purchase page, but also on your account settings page (where you can also check your registration and return addresses).
