I am sending a purchase to a Forest!

I know of 2 purchases that will be returned to me this week and the week is not even over...LOL.

I know this one purchase address is fake...one would think eBay would do something.

I go into 'your sold item on...' 'View order details' and here we go...

The shipping 'name' and 'telephone number' does not match the 'order no.' 'name and telephone number'.

Come on...I google the address and it is a forest of trees that a road goes through it.

'Order no' name is 'Strange Erin' and address is '8th Street Road'...is it a street or a road?

I thought it be the laugh of the day.IMG_6984.JPG

Sometimes those Google photos are quite old... the forests you see are tracts of land that have since been converted into industrial parks.

You can compare them to Apple maps and see if there are updates.

Nonetheless, that's quite a pile of returned mail you have.

Dead people have accounts on eBay?  Sounds vaguely familiar....

eBay seller since 1999. This is a posting ID.

It's a road between hills of tall trees in West Virginia.

The 'Street Road' as an address gave it away plus the person's name 'Strange Erin'.

I cannot remember when I last got USPS undeliverable return.

I know, more or less, what you sell.

Is there any correlation between price and bad addresses or anything that might give you a hint what it is about your listings which draw these undesirable buyers?

I don't understand the point of people making that many purchases but not providing legit addresses.

The deceased one, I unfortunately understand.

The one off, 'haven't used the account in ages, and forgot to check the deliver-to address before hitting the buy button', okay.

But the rest? So many?

Is it a scam? If so, I don't understand the payoff.

Actual addresses, and USPS delivery addresses can vary. Although "the address" may exist not all addresses get delivery.

Hand addressing aids in the bypassing of the ever so small safeguards of a bad address.

Waldo lives on Church street.  Waldo's town does not have "street delivery" to Church street. USPS employee knows Waldo because he comes in 6 days a week to pick up his mail.  Waldo has no problem getting a package delivered by UPS, but USPS sends back mail because that address is not deliverable.

One thought is the 'buyer' has a credit card not theirs and wants to try to use it. So they make a cheap purchase to see if it works.

My other possible return this week...I google the address of a house that is 'for sale'...I get those also.

I don't do tracking for cheap items...Buyers may not realize that.

A buyer can have the expensive item using someone else's credit card and send it to a house for sale.

Shipper drops package off at house 'for sale'...Buyer has tracking and knows when item got dropped off and maybe buyer lives around the corner...buyer picks up package at 'house for sale'.

So why do these buyers never ask for a refund or ever contact me?

I think it is more of using credit cards to see of they can be used by not the owner?

One or two would be weird, but this is the second pile you've shown on here. I assume these are all the $2ish stamps you have? Maybe a ring of CC thieves decided you were the one to run tests on? You would think some of those would get chargebacks though.

You get to keep the sale I assume? And steam off those stamps to sell/reuse lol?

I've had a few customers with fake seeming names, like they're using an in game name or something. Never had anything RTS though.

That must be great for business, you get to keep selling the same item over and over.

I need some of those buyers. 😂
