They seem like a cheaper shipping option, then they tack on a ton of fees.

I mailed an item that was supposed to be around $20 Ground..and they stuck a $16 "Address Correction Fee" Making the total around $37.

I mailed it to the address listed on the shipping page, so I have no clue why they stuck me with such a high fee.

It should tell you the address is invalid in the shipping portal. I would call ebay and not give up until they eat the fee. You have no control over that. The shipping portal has been a glitch disaster, along with the rest of the site. It would not let me ship a package to a valid address a week ago, and I had to go to the post office to ship it. Low and behold, the address was good. Today people could not check out and pay. This whole site is an absolute disaster.  It is laughable that they want us to opt to pay a higher percentage to sell here. No wonder Wenig stepped down, right when Rome is burning.

FedEx does charge a 'fee' if the address changes, however, it used to be 'after' the pkg was sent at a rate of $10.00.  The partner that I worked for (until his untimely death) only wanted to use FedEx.  They were charging the address change fee due to my handwriting, so I started to print out labels from the computer and using their plastic bags for the shipping labels - no more fees.  Since I have not used FedEx in a long time (not selling/shipping anymore) I was not aware of the higher fee for address correction.

Even if you had your own FedEx account (which I highly recommend) the fee would apply.

I know now never to ship using FedEx. I shipped a package with them and they damaged it and posted. I filed a claim after refunding to the buyer. They destroyed the package did not deliver it at all and denied my claim that it was their fault. I called and spoke to an agent that had no clue what to do. Asked for my phone number and said that someone might call me about my complaint about being denied my claim for their poor performance as a delivery company. VERY BAD COMPANY TO USE FOR SHIPPING.
