I don't sell on here often, but recently made a few listings. After figuring exactly how much each package will cost me, that is exactly what I charged for the label, but when I go to print it out I am paying double every time!
I just had to spend $34 shipping, I set the shipping prices for a reason and am being charged almost double what the eBay quoted label cost as well!
What is going on. I need to fix this issue before sending out any other orders, because I refuse to continue getting scammed and lied to by eBay.

Did you set a flat rate on the shipping or are you using calculated shipping?

I find that it depends on where you are shipping to. That said, you really can't be 100% positive on shipping cost.

If you're using USPS and calculated shipping and enter the correct weight and dimensions after the item is packed, the price should be correct.

@lithdagger hopefully you know, or NOW know- that any discrepancy is 100% your fault.
It is YOU that is doing something wrong. For instance, you have items shipping to me, in Nevada- from you in Washington, for $4.99. Almost NOTHING ships for $4.99. So,
There is a BIG difference between using USPS and 'quoting'
1.) MEDIA mail
2.) GROUND ADVANTAGE
3.) PRIORITY
So with that said:
a.) what type of shipping did you calculate using?
b.) what type of shipping are you buying?

@kensgiftshop Absolutely. I figured that they weren't using calculated shipping. I couldn't figure out any other way that they would be so off.

It looks like you have set flat rates for your items. You are in Washington State and I am in NJ and I am seeing $4.99 for most items. There is just about nothing that will cost $4.99 cross country with tracking. Make sure your items are set up for calculated shipping so that distance is considered.
You also say you just spent $34 for shipping. I am seeing that you sold two items that don’t appear to be heavy or large enough to cost that much via Ground Advantage. (Maybe I am wrong about guessing on the size.) What service did you use for $34 for two shipments?

99.9% sellers fault if a seller loses on shipping costs.
You got this moving forward. Use calculated shipping and enter the correct weight and dimensions into the shipping in the Listings.
At least error on the high side if weighing and measuring before hand is not in your wheelhouse.

Measure and weigh each item and use calculated. Or default it to 1lb 12x12x12. That will at least give a more accurate cost than using fixed rate.
