How to ship two items for same order, separately at two different rates?

Because I deal in collectibles, a buyer sometimes buys a very light, delicate item and a heavy item, such as a book. In order to avoid damage, the book must be shipped separately, so the two items are shipped via Priority and Media Mail.  Unfortunately, I've never been able to figure out how to do this using the new, "improved" eBay shipping. Note that it could be done easily on the old eBay shipping.  If both items required the same postage, e.g., both required Priority Mail, there would be no problem making two shipping labels.

You have 2 choices:

From your sold/ready to ship items page HOLD DOWN THE SHIFT KEY  and click "print shipping label". That will open the label making page WITHOUT closing the sold items list.

After you ship the first item return to the list of sold items on your sold items page.

Again HOLDING DOWN THE SHIFT KEY  click "print shipping label" again. You will get a message that you have already created a label. Ignore it. You can then print a second label using whatever shipping methods you want (without regard to what you used before).

OR

On the seller hub in the left column is a link "shipping labels". Click that then find the specific sale you want. To the far right is a drop menu which includes "print another label;".
