I have some objects that I can’t lift and need to know how to ship them across country instead of local pickup.

Most big and heavy objects like you describe are better listed as local pickup only. Unless it's a rare and valuable item, the shipping cost will undoubtedly be prohibitive. Plus guess who gets to pay the return shipping when that buyer decides it's not as described.

@marpra7456 Not everything is suitable for online selling. Heavy objects are not worth the price to ship. You will not receive what the item is worth, and you will be responsible for any returns. Always remember this platform offers a money back guarantee to every buyer. Large heavy items should only be sold in person or donated to a worthy cause. Best of luck to you....

Thank you for responding so quickly. I’ll be taking your advice and only list the item for pickup only. Happy Holidays.

I appreciate all the advice from the community. I’m new at this and can use all the advice I can get. I’ll be using local pickup in my listing for heavy objects. Thank you and Happy Holidays.

I have a lot of things that have value but NOT if they would have to be shipped. I see no reason to list such items on eBay. There are local options that will not produce the "please ship this" headache.

Take a half hour or so and read many of the other helpful threads here. I have been here since 1998 and every week I learn something new here. Make sure that you know about the new postal surcharges that started a few months ago on bigger packages. An example is a 15.oo SURCHARGE + the cost of shipping for any item that is 30" or longer. Make sure that you know this. Buy a shipping scale online for around 20-25 bucks and get a measuring tape too. Goodluck.
