How to "share eBay's IOSS number electronically with your carrier"?

I made a sale to Lithuania (EU) and on the order page there is a note in the Shipping Details section where the buyer's address is.

It says:

"Please ensure that you share eBay’s IOSS number electronically with your carrier for your shipment to the EU. Learn more."

I was not able to find any useful info through the "Learn more" link.

eBay has collected the VAT tax from the buyer for this order and I just don't want the buyer to pay the VAT tax twice at the customs office and then raise hell or even reject the package.

Does anyone know how to "electronically share the IOSS number" with USPS?

Do I have to add the IOSS number on the label or is eBay doing that automatically?

I don't see the number anywhere on the label that's been printed.

eBay has already collected the VAT tax from the buyer for this order and I don't want the buyer to pay it twice.

I tried calling eBay and had a chat with one of the agents who was pretty much clueless and claimed that she will forward my message to some "shipping department help" or something like that - and that they will contact me within 48 hours.

Great job, eBay! This order was supposed to be shipped with Express Mail!!

On another note: I have tried three times to call eBay and every time their "agents" act like they can't hear me and then hang up on me. Anyone else had this problem with them?

Thank you!

How to "share eBay's IOSS number electronically with your carrier"?

I found this info on another thread:

"On any shipments where an IOSS is required our label system will automatically provide the proper number to the relevant customs authority without the need for a member to populate the number.

If a shipment meets the requirements, an IOSS number will not be printed on the label."

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Shipping/IOSS-Numbers/m-p/32389384

Can someone confirm if this is true and if it is - then why is eBay still displaying the note to "share the IOSS number..." ??

Hi
I am also facing the same problem today. Ebay shipping has automatically picked-up eBay's IOSS number on the buyer's address line. The Air Way Bill copy also contains the IOSS number in the address line.

Will this suffice? Could you confirm this?
