How to prevent following type of "fake" buyer.

1. Claim item not received.

2.Claim item not as described.

3.Claim item not working.

I encounter a few after confirmed user should have been received the item purchased, leaving buyer a positive feedback!

I also discovered if feedback is not given, these buyer will never come back to file a claim! Seem some buyer is making use of such system. Suggest eBay allow seller to modify initial feedback like other selling platform.

Block buyers with low or negative value feedback, sell only domestically and Canada, do not sell expensive items (do not sell what you can not afford to loose), do not sell not tangible merchandise, do not sell in video games, phones.  Before sending write to the buyer asking something. See what they say.

FYI, in my experience,  even buyer have very high positive feedback has similar issue happen. So of them is after you have a positive feedback. As they know you don't have a chance to change your feedback the 2nd time.

eBay has "Seller Protection Policies" in place to prevent buyer fraud, if only the policies were enforced.    Below is eBay's Seller Protection Policy in a nutshell.

When you deliver on your service promises to create good buying experiences, we will protect you from abusive buying behavior and from events outside your control.

 

The question is whether the protection occurs before the buyer is refunded or after the buyer is refunded and keeps your item as a gift?

Also do take note eBay has a function to block the buyer ID. Do use it when necessary.

 

Another thing to take note is those order from Brazil address. Avoid them at all cost. From my encounter, successful rate is like next to zero. Never take risk to ship any item there even it is a tracking paid postage.

Canada is also one place I encounter to file claim that item not received, especially soon after leaving a positive feedback to buyer.

Dont think this is good enough for seller.

Buyer can use all kind of reason to raise as item not received. eg My husband recent has a item sold to Portugal. Buyer just use the reason of post office request the buyer to pay VAT (which has already collected by ebay). He refuse to pay and use reason of item not received to ask for refund.

Surprised, ebay just grand the refund without looking into the detail the buyer has input in the case.

In the end, we never receive the say item returned to us too. We are not sure if buyer tell the true story, and is quite a expensive item.

 

We have since planned to move out from selling in ebay.

Buyers cannot have negative FB unless it's a buyer who also sells and the negative FB involves a sale.

If a buyer claims "item not received", you should have tracking proving otherwise.

If a buyer claims item not as described or not working, you will be required to accept the return, send a prepaid return label and refund in full when you receive the returned item.  

I don't understand your message about if feedback is not given the buyer will not come back to file a claim.

Not receiving FB does NOT preclude any buyer from opening a case.

Please do some more reading about the Money Back Guarantee for buyers.  PLEASE.
