How to mark an item shipped when the client picks up the item directly

How do I find intelligent life at EBAY - I have had several Items paid and picked up at my store.  I mark them as paid and shipped yet EBAY says I did not upload tracking number!

Here is a synopis of my conversation

"Hi I had customers pick up items and marked as so.  Ebay says I did not upload tracking number on time, How do I get that fixed"  the rep says "I understand sir.  You need to upload tracking number to avoid this problem"    "No you don't understand, the customer picked up furniture at my store and paid cash and I immediatey updated Ebay and marked it as paid and picked up.  Yet you show it as not being shipped on time"   His reply "I compeltely understand Sir.  To prevent this you must upload tracking number"    Sheeesh   Let me speak to a Supervisor.   I essentially had the same conversation with her.  She transferred me to the Seller Performance Office.  Same Convsation.  And then she told me if I wanted to appeal the decision I needed to file an appeal but not with her office I needed to contact Customer Service.  Right back where I started from!

 

Two hours on the phone - nothing fixed nothing accomplished.

Unfortunately that is the Bad thing about Local pick up, No Tracking Number to upload, you get a bad Mark every time. I don't think there is anything you can do to prevent it.

In the future, make sure that local pickup is one of the shipping options on your listing, that way, when the item is picked up you can mark it as delivered.

This sound's like Amazon...I listen to a radio talk show and they had people interviewed that worked for amazon...they said workers are told to look on shelf x and in box y...for a item to ship...even tho the workers know the item isn't in box y they have to take everything out of the box...it's required...and report item isn't there.  Sometime's it's a wonder our world revolves at all.

If you offer local pickup, then you can't upload a tracking number.  You're required to upload a certain percentage of tracking numbers to maintain Top Rated.  So you have to limit the number of listings on which you offer local pickup.  It's a challenge.  There's a reason they don't make it easy.  Your best bet is to relate to your customers that you would rather ship the item than have it picked up locally.  Top Rated status isn't a good fit for every business model.

no, if you offer local pickup as one of the options in the listing, then when you mark it as picked up, it does not count against your uploaded tracking percentage.
