I have large quantity lot of vintage and used Barbie & Friends fashion dolls.
I plan on dividing into lots. Try to sell cheap or reasonable enough so buyer gets good deal and I make a little something too
Still need to do more research to figure if I group together by colors of hair or how to divide
Buyer wants to save on postage so am wondering hiw many dolls a medium flat rate usps priority mail box will hold
None are in boxes- unsure just how old - figure may list dolls made in certain place together or ones with tans or would make more money if I did more research but...

Barbies are lightweight for the amount of space they take up. It's unlikely that the postage for a Medium FRB would cost less than the regular postage (bsaed on weight and distance) for a plain box the same size, full of Barbies.
You need to get a Med FRB and put some barbies into it so you can see what such a box would weigh, and check the weight-based cost. Most Post Offices have a rack full of them; they're a big profit-maker for USPS because people wil use them rather than provide their own box and use regular rates.

Barbie boxes are not all the same size and shape. Since they are light, as the previous poster pointed out, then it probably is not economical to use the med flat rate. You pay by weight typically, and not size of the box. You might want to explore your options.

I know I'll catch heck for this but Barbies are light. SmartPost is best.

Smart post is horrible and if something goes wrong it is hard to get it fixed. It's like the proverbial slow boat to China
If barbies are so light they will be cheap to ship priority too although I doubt a medium frb will make sense. They're better for more dense items traveling across the country.

I have no idea what Barbies weigh. I never liked dolls and neither did my girls. But if they are packaged (in your own box) and it weighs under 16 ounces, First Class Parcel would be the way to go. Not in boxes I'd wrap them in tissue paper and line them u in a Padded Flat Rate Envelope. If boxed you need to protect the box as well as the doll.

I've had only one problem with smartpost (that they never paid me for) and that was a damaged item. I have smartpost on almost every listing I have and 99% of buyers chose that level of service. I wouldn't ship anything fragile or expensive through smartpost though, heavy or big works out great.

"SmartPost is best."
Nope.
First Class is way better.

I would never ship anything FedEx and I hit the back button if only FedEx is offered. Smart Post I will order but only as a last resort. But at least it is delivered by USPS so that is its only saving grace.
